Should be the RS but will be punished for being in a crap team. Easily been the most consistent across the full year out of all the contenders.
Nah. Murphy has been just as consistent if not more and should be crowned RS

its annoying that he's barely mentioned but I do think Reid and Curtin have had awesome years too. I think Ashcrofts best games have been arguably the best of all but he hasnt been as consistent as the other three.

No he hasn't

indicative I know but 14/23 games had supercoach scores of 70 or less
compare that to Archie and he had 6

Murphy is just the forward version of Archie albeit less consistent

Yes he has

Your obsession with supercoach is plainly bizarre. It should be used for one thing and one thing only, which is determining who wins a game of SC

At present SuperCoach scores are one of the best catch all publicly available stats that measure player performance
No, they aren't. They're the best way to measure whether or not you win in Supercoach.

They do not measure any of the defensive acts other than tackles and stuff like score involvements and goal assists are not there either. It is not catch all.

Jeremy Cameron has the 75th most points this year. Is he the 75th best player?

It’s not a great measure.

sorry

Champion Data points takes into account a positive and negative impact on a game by said player

Where is that list cause the Footywire has has him 11th overall for points in forwards with the 10 before him all midfield/forward types.

The next best in that list is Naughton at 18.

maybe. 75th most impactful player sounds about right. (Going by average)

Mids tend to get the most points because they are the most involved players in the game. That makes them more impactful under the current system. Feels true to form

If you only look at forwards (and don’t consider the ones who primarily play mid or HB these are in order the best forwards in the league

Rankine, Sam Darcy, Thilthorpe, Grian Myers, Kossie and Jezza

Jezza isn’t getting midfield level touches, doesn’t offer that much defensively as a forward pressure player and is part of a balanced forward line that has means the goals get shared around.

'champion data' points are not exact guidelines but a fair indication of a player..

Jeremy Cameron is easily a top 5 player in the AFL.

Is Toby Nankervis better than Sam Darcy? He’s scored more SuperCoach points and has a higher SuperCoach average, so I guess he must be 🙄

Anyone who has played SC for a long period of time knows its not an accurate reflection of the best players in the competition, its an accurate reflection of the best midfielders, running / intercepting backs and mobile ruckmen (to a degree).
You never pick genuine small forwards or key position backs/forwards in your team because the impact they have on games isn't accounted for in the scoring system, does that mean a gryan miers or jez cameron arent as or more important than Bailey smith? Ofcourse not.
Thats why its silly to use sc scores to compare murphy reid and archie, archie plays a much more sc friendly position.

I wouldn’t have Jezza as a top 5 player in the comp. That’s a ruck or mid. Jezza wouldnt be getting half the goals he does playing for North, Westcoast or Essendon.

SuperCoach stats favor certain positions… but also as advanced stats have evolved across various sports we have come to realise that how positions were traditionally valued isn’t always accurate to the impact they have on the game.

Key forwards in my oppinion are largely overvalued if they can’t play ruck.
