Didn't think it was his best game, but he was influential when it mattered. Those intercepts were brilliant!

On a side note, he won the Brent Croswell medal for best on ground (granted it was voted by the ch7 commentators).
At least he is flavour of the month then. Better it Todd than some other plonker they hitch their wagon to.

Surprised getting so many votes in that thread.

I didn't think it was one of Goldstein's best this year, thought very good in third quarter but probably just behind Maric in the first half - broke about even for mine, neither that influential but there is no doubt he has stepped up as a player.

His first half wasn't anything special but he was up against 3 players all day, he eventually broke the shackles and was the difference in the end.

Nah, that isn't right Tas. Maric basically played the entire game in the ruck without a chop out (remember Griffiths was out of game after a quarter), whilst Goldstein had spells when Brown went into middle.

Goldstein started influencing the game when Maric tired in the third quarter no doubt, but having much less time on the ground (82% compared to 98%) allowed him to be fresher.

I didn't mean he had to contend with different ruckmen, he had to contend with a lot of guys going up as the second or third ruck around the ground, which is the strength of Goldy. Griff going down early really stopped another player being all over him, but we still saw Reiwoldt up forward and Rance down back contest against him at the same time as Maric and some time other mids as well, the weight of numbers made it difficult for him to have his usual influence but it is inexcusable that we allow other players to get a run at Goldy or that those who have their opponent peel off to help in the ruck do not make the opposition pay at ground level.

We have too many stand around and do nothing players around the stoppages.

Is Goldy in the leadership group?

It's undebatable that he's leading this team and if he isn't then he needs to be included immediately, and given run of the group.

Deserves every single bit of praise, media attention, dollars earned and roaring ovation that he gets this year, and much, MUCH more.

I must eat a Jesters best seller - the ol' humble pie. I was in the group who said lets trade the big fella for the number one pick... what a Hindenburg-esque F**k up that would have been. I will pay my pennants by watching the replay of the St Kilda vs Carlton ANZAC day clash in NZ - 20 times back to back..

What a star he's becoming and he's untradeable - full stop!

No Goldy is not in the middle management leadership comittee.

Interesting that Johnno Brown mentioned last night that Shane Mumford is in brownlow winning form...did he forget about Goldy??

He also called them the Mighty Brisbane Lions.

grain of salt and all that.

You reminded me of this classic thread.

Grrr, arrgghh.

Where is the least interesting member of the Zondorchokefishnip quartet, anyway? Thinking Onip may have hacked his account.

Big test coming up this week, literally.

Imagine if Sandilands had the intensity and intent of Shane Mumford, he'd be one of the best players ever.
