He needs to do what Cory did in the reserves today before he gets another game. 32 disposals and 4 goals.
And yet, if Corey were to replace Cootee in the senior side, he’d probably deliver a performance much like Cootee did today. It’s a really tough role to play - or at least, to play and get noticed. You do a lot of unrewarded running and just have to hope you’re in the right place at a couple of points in the game to have an impact with ball in hand. At least Cootee didn’t fluff his chance when it came. And he probably had the same impact on the game as Konstanty.

The thing we also miss with all these guys is what was he asked to do today. I thought he got in some decent passages of play it was just an average bit of use costing him. But his running patterns and 1%ers, score involvements might be closer to par

I think there is something there to work with. I don't think he will keep his spot over the next few weeks but if he can believe he has a place in the side and he can more confidently and aggressively approach his game then he can definitely get more opportunities over the rest of the year.

Looks to me like Cleary did when he came in - a natural midfielder trying to impact at AFL level as a small/medium forward. Which is tough.

He hasn’t disgraced himself.

Like Cleary, hard to judge until he gets a run in the guts. But that opportunity might not happen for a while.

Yeah the few times he has found himself around a stoppage he has looked more confident.

Cootee was selected after only a couple of games in the twos. In the first game against the Boroughs he looked OK and got 20 possies and 1 goal. In his next game he got 12 with 1 before being elevated for the Doggies game where he got 8 and 1, followed by 11 (0), and 10 (1) today.

It seems to me he was selected on optimism rather than form. He needs to start racking up possessions in the twos to get his confidence up. You can see he is lacking confidence at this level.

I'm not the greatest fan of Corey but apparently he was huge today in a very tough game and I think he is worth another crack whilst Cootee finds some form.

Its how much do you value his tackling pressure i think we will need him for next week against Geelong smalls.

No idea , if no one's back from injury he probably stays
