Mick was a beast but Taz is a better skilled footballer. Different times and different games meant different aspects were important so its hard to compare them on a "who was better" scale. Same with Arch. The definition of better has changed with the game. A different kind of physicality was needed back then.

Taz is yet to do it for three seasons when Mick did it for 300 games too.

Taz is an absolute monster, love the way he matches up on key position forwards such as Buddy and Walker. He doesn't mind being aggressive, having a tussle and getting in their face. He doesn't let anyone stand over him he's an absolute legend his stats are through the roof and continue to grow week on week. Should be All Australian this year, if he isn't we should boycott AFL!

You must know he's not going to get close to AA this season. He might get into the squad and then receive the platitudes for being "desperately unlucky" to miss the team, but he's not displacing Rance or Hurley now or anytime soon because the selectors are clueless.

And then would rather animatedly argue with the umpire that he was going for the ball.

I remember an early 90's game (actually it's part of the Carey greatest games vid) against the bombers. There was a couple of times where the bombers full forward (who was rocking an atrocious mullet) burned off Mick on the lead. He marked the ball well before Mick got there and each time Mick have him a left, right, left around the ears.

To the man with the mullets credit he held the marks. The commentators didn't even think it was worth a mention. Haha. These days, he'd be talked about for 3-4 days

Fullbacks would be talked about if they didn't do it!!

Your right , but you don't reach the heights the Arch reached without being a great footballer & at this moment Taz hasn't reached the same heights .

Who knows where Taz will end up. He could captain us to three flags yet.

But Archer was a great footy player and it will take something of a career to match him.

Shout out to Taz in the build up to what will be his 100th game in the Royal Blue and White.

Massive props to the guy for reaching this milestone considering the significant setbacks he faced early in his career. 4 shoulder reconstructions, broken thumb and some weird arsed nerve issue in his leg. Now AA standard full back.

Congratulations Robbie. You deserve your name on the locker as much as any who have come before you.
