Past #26: Tarryn Thomas [Part III] - [C.Twomey] AFL rules TT is eligible to play in all competitions as of 14 October

Yes, because the effect of who Tarryn chooses to hang out with is an extension of Tarryn as far as the club is concerned. Also, did I mention his not-quite squeaky clean track record? It's not like this has come out of the blue, is it? It's not a situation where a reasonable person immediately puts the likelihood of dishonesty from the accuser at a high level given what happened in 2022 and last year.

How long are you willing to go on this farcical merry go round in the name of keeping a footballer who'd have been kicked off the list last year if he wasn't born with the gift of kicking some leather?
Do you speak for the club?

You’re different from me, I’ll always give individuals an opportunity regardless of their past.

Still lolling over how Tarryn racking up contested possessions, clearances and inside 50s after months and months out means he's not a dedicated trainer.

All happening under noted soft touch Alastair Clarkson.

One of the funniest things I've read on here.

I could never troll that well

That he finished 6th in the B n F off ten fewer games playing a bloody hard role in a s**t team is proof he's unfit and a bad trainer lol.

Brane genius material.

We both know if he only got "easy ball" on the outside you'd bag him for being soft and not committed and only capable of finishing off others hard work.

This is hilarious stuff Pauline.
To be fair, if I was in my prime, I’d have won norths BnF.. lets not get too carried away with BnF finishes

I don't even mean 'as far as it's concerned' in the sense of the club having an opinion on this. I don't speak for the club. All I mean is that the club has suffered consequences as a result of both his actions and the company he keeps. Which makes them one and the same from a damage viewpoint. The club can't keep Tarryn and make itself immune to the impact of his company.

Spose it's a moot point anyway. All we're discovering on this board is how much people are willing to take to keep a talented player. One strike, two strikes, five strikes. More trouble has come from his camp than the rest of the team combined. The world won't end if we lose him and his trail of destruction, but nah, anyone potting him who wants the club to be able to focus on its aims unobstructed without this sodding circus is just racist

Bit of action in here the last 24hrs

There should be a sticky note at the top of the thread that list each posters stance on TT. It would save a whole lot of argument. He is a very polarising individual. The only thing we can all agree on is his talent is elite. For now until allegations are confirmed of wrong doing I will back him in.

Geez wiz, didn't things go off here.

Clearly the divisions caused by last years nation wide event are still getting wider and wider.

Perhaps we never come back together from the damage it caused :(

I hope everyone can start to look at the reason we are all here and see the commonality in our shared passion for this great game and club. Lets not tear each other apart, we are North Melbourne.

Tarryn had a very interrupted pre-season leading in to last year, it's highly likely that would've led to his fitness levels being below average. There's only so far he could catch up, not getting any continuity in his training until April/May.
He's that talented he can still impact games without elite level fitness. Tarryn is the most talented player on our list and as close to a complete footballer as you can get. It would be a massive blow if he left the club, or got the ass.
You stick with him, because like De Goey the penny will eventually drop

Exactly. Time for everyone here to take a rest and let this matter play out in its own time. A complete waste of time and energy the last few pages, in my opinion.

Interesting how times change......is it the media, social media, or everyone just wants to be outraged.

In 1997, Carey pleaded guilty to indecent assault after grabbing a woman’s breast on a Melbourne street, allegedly asking her “Why don’t you get a bigger pair of ****?”

As for TT, well clearly there's an issue, all clubs have them but a bit of a reach to call it a trail of destruction.

Jon Anderson on 3AW reported that he has heard the TT AFL interview did not go well for TT and that a suspension is looming. Just posting what was said.
I reckon if the ice was any thinner under the AFL on these issues they'd be underwater. No comment on TT because I don't know a thing either way but they'd want to be very confident they won't get push back from him / management (club irrelevant - they know we won't say boo about being told to wear different socks let alone anything else).

Kind of like how your racist cop/3AW mates were insistent last year he'd committed horrific crimes and he hadn't.

That's another racist stereotype - the violent black man.

Whilst stereotyping of Aboriginal people around laziness and violence is horrific, I would suggest in this case, saying an individual is a lazy trainer is not racism. If the comment was 'All Aboriginals are lazy trainers' then that would be different. I certainly would not take racial offence at being called a lazy trainer.
