Past #26: Tarryn Thomas [Part III] - [C.Twomey] AFL rules TT is eligible to play in all competitions as of 14 October

You get an average of 20 and 2 with flashy displays of brilliance coming out of the middle and you'll be in calculations. He's capable of that.
I think that 2 players have averaged under 23 possessions and polled top 5 in the Brownlow in the last decade.

Buddy and Gawn.

Atley was a s**t kick. Horrible
He wasn't a bad kick but he was a shit decision maker. Would get the ball and just stop instead of moving it on quickly - by the time he'd get around to taking his kick all options were covered so always kicking to a contest that often meant turnovers.

Please take it another thread, thanks gents.

This thread is about Tarryn Thomas, who is very interested and committed to political issues in his community.

This is where discussion about Tarryn Thomas and issues to do with the politics surrounding his community take place.

If that's difficult for you, that's a you problem.

I'll never ever forget Robbie Tarrant marshalling the defence to keep kicking it up the line against the Bombers, and taking intercept after intercept, before Ats decided to kick into the middle for some reason.

I don't watch training but go to games and Tarryn is definitely not lazy on the field. He provides a lot leadership and knows exactly what is going on during the game and will be very important for this young group this year. He will be one of Clarko's on field generals.

That's what I see from the cheap seats. I don't know enough detail about the other stuff to comment.

When people get on the " keep politics out of sport" pipe and start saying stuff like "take it to another thread" 99.99 per cent of the time it means "stop making me feel uncomfortable about my deeply held feelings on this subject."

So they invent bullshit whines about how "every thread get ruined" by these discussions.

No, none of it on the trade thread, or Riley Hardeman's thread, or LDU's.

Just oddly, the one about the indigenous player who has been shitcanned by racist dogs here ever since he did that mural.

But what should we expect from such a thoroughly racist country as Australia. As the Voice vote proved, the majority of Australians are hard core racists when it comes to indigenous people, albeit ever inventive in the mewling excuses they create to pretend they're not.

Anyway, I look forward to news from the AFL Leaking Unit and hopefully being able to move on from this and see Tarryn back out there
It is almost always "keep politics that I don't agree with out of sport" as these same people are usually perfectly happy when the AFL celebrates causes that they agree with.

And when it comes to Tarryn Thomas, and especially given his stance on Treaty, when posters demand that discussion be taken to another thread (and not the Tarryn thread FFS) and they complain to moderators and moderators start deleting posts discussing Tarryn's personal political beliefs, then those moderators are actively silencing Tarryn and indigenous voices. That's a massive political stance from moderators.

Agreed.

I understand why some posters here are frustrated by the lack of footy chat on Tarryn but reality he's not training with the group for fundamentally political reasons.

I should amend my post above. From memory the Robert Hansen Jnr thread had a bit of politics in it.

After a poster sledged him with a horrifically racist lie claiming he'd gone home without telling the club.

Odd that this keeps happening to our indigenous players/threads.

Mods should've left my post about one fingering ones anus as a warning to others. :stern look

Pics or it didn't happen.

Or it means that I actually want to read about Taryn Thomas updates.

Seriously you need to take your posts somewhere else, because they are not appropriate for a football forum.

I find it funny that you call people racist because they don’t want to read about the subject on a football forum, yes a football forum.

Racism works both ways. The term racists dogs is very inflammatory and itself a form of racism.

Stop listening to the 2%, it’s not representative of a whole country.

As for your comments on the other threads, no these discussions don’t exist, because people that are trying to push an agenda on racism aren’t posting that content on them.

Can we talk about football?

This isn't "discussion".

These are personal attacks from people with political agendas just finding an excuse to talk about it, in another thread.

I don't know Thomas' view on the voice, treaty or any other political view. I honestly don't give a shit. Tbh I don't imagine he's the sharpest tool in the shed on these matters regardless.

I can't say I spent more than 1 second of thought on his mural and honestly forgot about it's existence until reviewing it on the last page, it's certainly never come been a topic of a conspiracy to lay blame against his training standards for the last 4-5 years since it was painted.

It's the same posters that dig up these racial based issues that seemingly have never existed until Thomas is brought under some form of criticism.

Before you hang shit on other posters, maybe review some of our own coaches responses to Thomas and how he's come back to training after each of his spells.

Todd Viney had him do a training block with the VFL side this time last year, such was his state.....Maybe he is wrong too, maybe he's just a "racist dog", that didn't like his mural, Thomas view on treaty, his bruised ribs, deceased grandmother, intergeneration trauma upbringing (what other excuse has been peddled here?) and has a deep seeded racial set agenda.....

I think some of that was on Scott's coaching. Atley played off the backline like someone who wanted to move the ball fast and hid targets in motion but no one in the side responded to this. If Atley was in our side now and a decade younger we may end up with a completely different player. he did make some errors but show me a player that never does.

i also think Atley functioned best under pressure with instinct, not when he had to slow down and think about options and that did contribute to some shit decisions.

LOL.

Ironically if you posted pics of Taryn Thomas with her finger up her bum you'd get plenty of likes before you were banned. But I don't think she's been in the industry for over a decade now.

Tarryn on the other hand ....

This is stupid as **** too and completely inaccurate:

Racism works both ways. The term racists dogs is very inflammatory and itself a form of racism.

Its not a form of racism. Don't be an idiot.

I thought a lot of you guys were just triggered by Reid / Curtin / Pick 1 / Pick 2 / trade package chatter...

Seems that was just a good focal point at the time for some anger issues.

Go easy on each other folks, you're all on the same team!!!
👍

I just want some sort of time frame on when TT will be back training with the group. 30 odd days until our first game. This needs to be sorted.

lmao calling people racist is not a form of racism. let's just get that on the record

The fact that some of you would rather post about Shaun Atley….a former player and white person in a Tarryn Thomas thread just shows the casual, underlying racism that people harbour.

Privileges ought to be checked.

Yep, how long is this AFL bullshit going to take.
