Well at least we aren’t ******* around hoping rest will cure it then operating in January.

My exact take.

We should create a cut off point where by were sending anyone who needs it for surgery a month at least before the end of the season.

It's cooked why waste time f***ing about trying to eek out games.

Hopefully nothing long term. I'm optimistic this kind of decision is a Brady special, traditionally the club was extremely risk adverse when it came to going in for surgery while the season was live and there was vague hope of coming back. I'm hopeful this is a sign of a club that is much better at seeing where it is at and making a call when they think a season simply won't go our way irrespective of talent on the park.

Yep, Brady is on the march.

The next 4 months is going to be fascinating.

Hope so mate. It's been too long without a senior above the coach willing to make hard calls - from the outside in this looks positive (outside of the injury obviously).

You know you’re going bad when a season ending injury is good news.....

Tom Curran KC. Think you forgot him.

Just on Tom, what a smart punt that was.

Hawks had him father-son and the kid was a great sized key forward. Any club wants developing talented key forwards on their list.

Yet Hawthorn checked out his medicals and said "no thanks".

Somehow in our wisdom we thought we knew better had gave him a senior list spot. 0 games later..

In saying that, Hawthorn also recruited Patton, Scully and O'Meara for decent coin, all of whom will be lucky to play 100 games between them for Hawthorn.

Decent coin but bearable trade cost. High reward players for them too - key forward, gut runner, inside mid.

Yep, but only if they stay on the park. Decent chunk of the salary cap too...

Don't forget that somehow with that rag tag bunch of misfits they reached top 4 in 2018 o_O.

Let that sink in. With a list of shitmen that we beat up twice Alistair Clarkson still got them top 4. They equaled our best results in 20 years with that pile of shite.

So the topping up looks a bit weird from the outside but those sorts of additions could've stolen them a premiership due to a canny coach using his crap tools wisely.

Quick google search :

“Key takeaways

The syndesmosis ligament helps support your ankle. A syndesmosis injury is generally more serious than other ankle injuries. Without proper treatment, it can lead to long-term problems”

Hope this is not good night TT, a-la Jesse Smith, Kieran Harper.

Same will go for Simpkin - guaranteed.

Surely this has to stop. We have a dozen of our possible best 22 off the park, most with recurring/long term/mis-diagnosed/setback after setback type injuries.

How many of these blokes have we put back on the ground after sustaining injures during games?
