With the Champs league getting the go ahead how bout some designs. Alot of the named clubs have similar colours,so get creative those of you's who go nuts for this type of thing.

Re: 2nd tier comp jumpers

if this is for the nafl this was one of my early designs for the "Darwin Crocodiles", now the "Kimberly Crocodiles" if i get picked for the 2nd tier comp.

I believe this is for the champions league*, which isn't exactly a second tier it is the best state teams in the nation in a tournament, which I believe will start next year. So it will have teams from the WAFL, SANFL, VFL, Queensland, etc.

*name pending?

Re: 2nd tier comp jumpers

I can only assume the designs he is looking for is specialised tournament guernseys. So for example, Subiaco could wear a maroon and realistic gold as a champions league guernsey.

I doubt teams will wear anything different then their usual strips, just a patch, but would still be good to see some designs.

Re: 2nd tier comp jumpers

Well it's a tournament of the best teams from the state leagues. So Swan Districts, Claremont, Central District, Norwood, Ballarat, Bullants, etc. A champions league style tournament.

This is just a concept thread, it is not a tournament, just a thread for people to post concepts for the actual football tournament. So you can make whatever you like really, as long as it is for eligible teams to wear in the tournament.

Re: 2nd tier comp jumpers

The name's a bit of a misnomer given that it's not exactly the "champions" of each major league in each state/Territory outside the AFL.
For example, I believe the top four SANFL clubs from last season have snubbed the competition, instead the bottom four will be participating.
In Tasmania, the only club participating is Statewide League premier Clarence (their playing uniform is a white front with red V, and red back with white numbers, red and white hooped socks, red shorts by the way).
The runner-up in this season's Grand Final, Devonport, is in massive financial trouble (over half a million big ones in debt) and are fighting extinction.
Devonport has also lost a stack of players and just wouldn't be competitive at that level.

Top Five in the SANFL snubbed it actually and so did South so the SANFL has got the sixth placed (out of 9) West Adelaide, seventh placed North Adelaide and wooden spooners Port. Who, until they merged weren't even likely to be playing in the SANFL next year.

Re: 2nd tier comp jumpers

I'm really dissapointed in the SANFL snub tbh.

If the WAFL can send 3 of its top 4 and the VFL 3 of its top 6, it baffles me as to why SANFL have given this comp the snub.

Same, I would have loved to see Centrals up against North Ballarat and Swan Districts. In West's credit, they do seem to have the right attitude about it from what I've heard.

Back on topic, I assumed they'd wear the regular jumpers with a Champion's League patch instead of the league logo.

Re: 2nd tier comp jumpers

Swan Districts=Black & White
Port Adelaide=Black & White
Nth Ballarat=Dark Navy & White
Surely with the clash issue in the AFL
these 3 teams will need an alternative strip?

My Port Adelaide colours are Gold, Black and White the same as the New Orleans Saints so this shouldn't be too much of an issue.

Wrong thread, this thread is about the champions league competition between WAFL, SANFL, VFL and the other state leagues.

Read this for a little more info on what it is.

Re: 2nd tier comp jumpers

So they need 16 clubs to get the competition underway.

Currently in are:
:diamond: North Ballarat (VFL)
:diamond: Northern Bullants (VFL)
:diamond: Williamstown (VFL)

:diamond: Port Adelaide Magpies (SANFL)
:diamond: West Adelaide (SANFL)
:diamond: North Adelaide (SANFL)

:diamond: Swan Districts (WAFL)
:diamond: East Perth (WAFL)
:diamond: Claremont (WAFL)

:diamond: Clarence (TSL)

Re: 2nd tier comp jumpers

Sponsor logos aren't allowed on the guernseys for some reason, so that is part of the reason the SANFL clubs didn't include themselves.

Also, for those dissapointed with the SANFL clubs deciding not to join the comp, the prize is $180,000 I believe, not much too share around, the travel and injuries are also a risk.

Story I heard was that the AFL wouldn't allow any sponsors that clashed with their "protected sponsors" - all AFL clubs have to abide by it as normal operation so it's not an issue for them, but e.g. Centrals (SANFL) are sponsored by Holden, which clashes with AFL and Toyota.

What has the AFL got to do with this?
