I'd take a second rounder for Cloke....not 'late'. Although didn't Richmond hand this off to Carlton?
 
Why would Richmond's second rounder be late?

2nd rounder? Not when he'll only cost us 400k a year next year. He still has life in him.


Dickery? He's useless. I'd want riewoldt.


Has to be first rounder for cloke. Regardless of form he's still currently an 800k per year player.


If cloke does become available on the market there will be a bidding war. We'd get a first rounder for him. Carltoon, Richmond, freo, Brisbane all need key towards and all would be able to pay nicely. I'd rather get the big man back into form but if he's really in need of a dollar and want to leave then he will have to make sure we are well compensated for his past 2-3 season of mediocrity.

Anyone question his value only needs to look at what they were offering hooker. When you are willing to pay guys 600-700k a year you must be willing to cough up a first rounder at minimum.

The scary thing is Buckley would actually do either those. Hopefully he wont be around at the end of the year to make anymore calls on players.

Proof of that claim or are you just talking crap? Sick of people steering every thread towards Buckley when there is already a 100+ page thread dedicated solely to the coaching dept. Go there and take pot shots if that is whats you're into.

Cloke is not worth trading at this point in time, if other clubs do not value him as a first rounder or equivalent.
 
I'd be bringing him back in this weekend. Sounds like he played a bit better and playing Carlton is the perfect game for him.

It saddens me to see this team.
A team full of young All Australians back in 2011.
Then they miraculously regressed or moved on.

We need to add to our collection.
Collection of seeds to sow for our spud farm.

He is on the senior list first of all, and a dual AA. Nice try though buddy. Not worth trading as we will need to pay at least $400,000 next year regardless of where he ends up. Just not worth it, better off on our list. Cloke is the least of our worries anyway, the delivery from the midfield and HB is the problem. People cant expect Cloke to kick bags when we're delivering him loopy kicks that don't allow him to run at the footy. He's just stuck wrestling waiting for the ball to drop. Same thing happened to our other forwards on the weekend. Our kicking into the f50 is atrocious. You could put Lockett in his prime, next to Buddy Franklin in our f50 and it wouldn't make a difference at the moment.

Firstly I believe he should be in the seniors and not in the VFL.... he is our best forward.

One of the main reasons he is playing VFL is so that he doesn't trigger his next contract $ wise.
Pathetic reason if you ask me. But our Club has made a few of those lately.

If I were in charge of list management I'd push to play him next week. Even with our crap delivery he should be easily able to outwrestle Carltons backline and contribute. At worst he takes the number one defender off of Moore, which is not a bad thing.
 
If he wants to go, he can. Lets face it, by the time we are ready to challenge again, he will be retired so if whether he has any good footy left in him is largely irrelevant to us. Someone will be interested, the Richmond connection at this point will simply be Cloke SNR talking to Weightman.
 
Would trade him for a pick in the top 20. If no one is willing to offer that, we keep him. But he's absolutely tradeable for the right price.

Vickery is terrible. Would rather stick with Cloke. Need to go to the draft.

not wanting to make excuses but I think Cloke's form would be a lot better if we had a settled team. It's been a tough season on the injury front and while we don't like making excuses, our best 22 would include Swan, Elliot, Adams, Varcoe, Williams, Scharenberg, possibly Witts and Goldsack with Cloke.

A combination of experience and run would make a significant difference to the way the ball gets delivered into the forward line.

agreed - want to see him work up the ground more, start at CHF and work up to the wings and back as he's done when playing his best footy.
