The issue will be getting his body big enough. He has pace, can play back forward or middle and his skills are reasonable but he is just very light.

We certainly haven’t drafted for the now, think the club knows that these guys won’t be challenging for a senior spot for another 3 years perhaps

Very true although we really do have the now pretty much covered covered. They have to back in the 20 to 25 year old players now. Personally I think we still need another classy midfielder but this draft was always going to be about looking forward.

SUMMARY: If there is a TAC Cup player flying under the radar heading into November, then Brayden Ham would have to be a candidate for that role. He finished second in the Geelong Falcons’ Best and Fairest behind Sam Walsh, and has some incredible eye-catching traits. He did predominantly play outside and his kicking can be inconsistent at times, but his athleticism across the board – speed, agility, endurance and vertical leap – would be close to the best in the draft crop. Furthermore, Ham has that ability to influence a contest without having to rack up huge numbers. He played in multiple areas and seemed to have the biggest impact playing at half-forward, but was also tasked with the kick-out duties as well.
Colyer replacement?

Josh Kelly will add class in our chase for back to back premiership in 2020.

I think with late picks you need to get players who have upside. Chances are they won’t make it but if they improve on their weaknesses then you gain a gem of a player. If anything we have strengthened our backline and forward line. We may have a surplus that will allow us to trade for that classy mid next year.

I live in the Geelong region and have seen this kid play for falcons a bit.

Reminds me of David Wojcinski in his play style and pace. If you expect him to top the club in contested possession you will be disappointed.
But if you use him as a specialist winger/half back in order to use his wheels he could be a player.

If his body can hold up he could step into Hinds role in the VFL team at some point next year.

alas the DWWWWFNC dropped a W a few seasons back, and went into recess start of last season. The whole AFL is in limbo last I heard, with Footy Victoria proposing things clubs aren't agreeing on and league mergers getting voted down.
A sad time for country footy although I guess when you’ve got the other Gippsland leagues nearby and seemingly going fairly strong and jobs headed out of the area it’s not hard to understand why

I played for WWW which seems a long time ago now. Played along side Anthony Bannick back in the day. Panda (Andrew Dunkly), was from Devon along with all his brothers and the Vardy boys. I think their now in the Nth Gippy league. Was it Welshpool that was the W?
