Kevin White’s injury list updates usually come out Tues/Weds so we won’t have to wait long. It’s likely Brayden would’ve had the meeting with an Orthopaedic Surgeon to review the scans only yesterday.

Only my speculation, but I would have thought if there's just the slightest chance he'd be better off in the long run to have surgery, the appointment at the Epworth would be in hand

I am going to file this latest set back under “Good Things Take Time”. The sport is littered with players doing multiple ACL’s (Neale Daniher, Alex Johnson, Menzel) Shoulders and soft tissue (eg, Bennell’s calves, Moore’s hammies). If the hype is true and Sausage is a +10 year project, then worry about 2025 and him suiting up for his debut game in Rd 1. If the injury is not as bad as thought, then we might sneak a few games into him in the last third of the season. Less pressure then as our season is cooked, and he can play with a little less expectation. He should take a lottery ticket this weekend in any case, as he is due some luck 🍀

I've done both shoulders over the years playing footy and other sports. A dislocation is not an automatic reconstruction.

Once my left went out mid game, I put it back in and kept playing. Got it reconstructed months later when it went out again and I was sick of it happening.

Season not necessarily over. Depends on how they assess it.

EDIT: From the VFL thread...

"Brayden will get scans over the weekend or Monday to show the extent of the damage, but he seemed in good spirits so hopefully it's on the minor end," Lynch said.
Yup, did mine years ago, would pop out if I sneezed.....never had it operated on, just did a bunch of light weights and strengthened everything around it, was fine after about 6 weeks, although that said, it took about 5 years till I could swing a golf club without any pain.

I'm no forensic detective, but my wild stab in the dark says they're not sure yet
Next week on CSI North Big Footy Detective Toepoker gets to the bottom of Ross Henshaw's question; If Josh Goater is listed as out for the season are the club referring to the football season or ski season?

Another season gone for the young kid.

* this sport - any chance of a tiny bit of luck
Its certainly raining cats and dogs at the moment or more to the point cats, like BLACK cats, like an army of them!
The fact is also they seem to be loving it and are just biding their time until things get worse.

Same. I popped it out doing my best impersonation of Catherine Zeta-Jones in Entrapment at the German Spy Museum in Berlin.

Not my fault. A kid went in before me and got a good score. I wasn't going to let a punk kid beat me so I told my mrs to hold my phone and wallet. 2 secs in I dropped to the floor with an arm outstretched and there it went. Still finished it and beat the kid but I learnt a valuable lesson.

I must have popped it out another 3 times playing tennis in the next 6 months or so. Finally did the proper rehab and after a long cautious period of strength and conditioning it feels a lot stronger. 4 years on and I'm still mindful of it so always loosen up more and change how I lift.

I hope it's not a continual thing with George. We sure as hell could do with some good luck.

I hear the Tom Arnold cameo was strangely satisfying.

Mine was drinking related while at Sea.

Brayden George's luckless run with his body continued last Friday, with the young defender sustaining a dislocated shoulder in the third quarter of the VFL side's clash with Greater Western Sydney in Blacktown.

George was in good spirits, however, and pulled up well.

White said the signs were good regarding George's strength, stability, and range of motion, albeit with the scans still showing damage around the joint.

"Follow-up reviews with our club doctor and specialist this week will determine our rehab approach moving forward, and we'll provide an update next week once that information has been gathered," White said.
