I'm not sure what your hahahas are about, it's not funny, he didn't play all that well, don't kid yourself. The difference is that Swallow made 10 tackles, including in a one on one, something Macmillan fails at time and time again. And Jack's clearance should have been contested - anyone at the game could see that - plus, think Jack probably jjust shaded Macmillan - Ummm only
The hahahaha's are because I find it genuinely hilarious....
Oh and by the way JMac is absolutely in our best 22.... When available he plays, history shows that. You are aware he played last night aren't you??? By definition that means he was in the best 22.
Do I have to point out to you that 'best 22' and most of the posts here are subjective, or are you light on for synapse connections?

I don't think best 22 is subjective at all... There is a game each week that clearly confirms who is, and who is not picked in the 22 that play.
In the match committees opinion JMac is clearly best 22. In the players opinion JMac is clearly best 22, which is evidenced by him being selected in the leadership group. So we have 2 groups of knowledgable, well paid, football professionals that clearly have a view that JMac is best 22..... And we have a few posters on Big Footy who think they know better...
I know which opinion I take as fact.

He doesn't play like a star or even a consistent player enough.

Still best 22 in the coach's mind whether people like it or not.

That sums up this irritatingly long argument.
I don't know if this or the Gibson debate is worse.

They say don't argue with a fool, so I won't.

he certainly wasn't bad but he wasn't fantastic either. I feel like passage of play where he sold Boomer into trouble with a terrible handball on the wing only to throw his body into the contest in a fantastic second effort was his night and maybe even his career in microcosm.
Classic Macmillan turnover that one.

Still can't believe we brought him in this week after little footy played by him this year

But in the same breath, surely you have to appreciate that as a player his second efforts are nearly second to none and he throws his body into every contest he can. He's a hearts and soul player who's sometimes let down by poor decision making although he has reasonable to good skills. It's a trait that could be said of a few of our players not the least favourite sons such as Ziebell and McDonald.

Haha yeah great call mate.... Don't forget your hat on the way out.
Got it mate, and if you follow cricket, next time you have a problem with the Australian cricket side, like for example continuing to bat Watson at number 3, remember, he's still the best number 3 in Australia and in the best XI because the Australian selectors say so. And we must bow to their opinions like zombies and just general people who can't have an original thought.

I can't see his ceiling getting any higher than what it is now. In fact I said this about 2 yrs ago and got absolutely BBQ'd for it.
He seems like a top bloke and I have no doubt he tries every game but unfortunately in any elite sport you need more than those qualities to be successful.
What about his form at the start of last year? I thought that was his ceiling, or at least the best form he's produced. He does that consistently and he's best 22 for mine, depending on others.

Nah if he's getting a game over Wood as 'best 22' then get content with 9th because we are pulling the piss!

I don't... I think it's boring.

Where was he playing.? Didn't notice him much on the tv screen til the last quarter

The Gibson debate is worse because Gibson can actually play and impact a game. Yes he has horror games as well, but JMac is either ordinary or horrible and has never impacted a game like Gibbo. I cant understand how a bloke who has no form coming back from injury just walks into the the 22, baffling?!?!?!

holy shit 3 pages since last night.

Was ok.

I liked when he beat Shortsteppell to the ball in the last.

Shortsteppel proved himself to be a fantasy player.

Shitload of points. Not a whole lot of impact.

I don't mind JMac. I think he is a solid size / skilled player with a few frustrating tendencies (poor tackler, hospital handpasser). That said, I have him as one of our 12-22 players, and I just don't think players in the bottom half of any teams best 22 should avoid finding form / fitness in the ressies after 3+ week layoffs.

Imo Jamie's game was somewhere between the extremes displayed here.

He did some nice defensive acts and carried the ball a bit but there was still a touch or Mr Turnstile on show here and there.

Wasn't ashamed but would be in my handful of possible outs if Wood is coming straight back in. I do not think this will happen however.

I'd be curious to see how many goals JMac is responsible for, compared to everyone else who 'led' to a conceded major.

Only because that has become a talking point.

If we're talking potential replacements, where would Mullett be on the list?

Easily in our best 22, can't understand why people don't rate him.

His game the other night he had one bad handball to Boomer, anything else? I thought he was pretty clean with the ball, provided some good run from half back, hit a couple of contests very hard, overall good game from someone who hasn't played much in the last 12 months. Will only get better as the year goes on.

And that handball had circumstances attached to it. Had no one to kick to, so turned on board. The execution was not great on tr handball but then he worked like a madman with his second effort to force a stoppage.

I agree, he is absolutely best 22 and is important to us.

The circumstances were he had to go to Boomer straight away, he held on to it gave a slow handball and sold him into trouble.

It would also be good to see him go like a madman more often and not only when he wants to fix the mess he created.
