How is his brother going over there anyway? Forgive me for not keeping up with Port business lol

9 touches and a goal in their round 1 SANFL game where they got smashed by 10 goals.

Whilst there’s no rush you can’t tell me he’s anyway less ready for footy than Luke trainor
That was a more telling point after R1 than it is now that Richmond has been overrun twice. They are playing all their kids and aren’t under pressure to win games or improve fast. No reasonable comparison to where we are.

And a second rounder back to spend this year too.

The negative Nancy’s will be spewing that Matlock looks a gun..

Nope, I'm very happy with his development and hope he kills it when he gets an opportunity in the 1s.

Whether it was the right move, however, will take years to come out in the wash. The big gumtree kicked 9 in the VFL too.

There will be some very real disappointment if he does turn out good. I’m sure they’ll find something else to be unhappy about.

Let the kid develop his body in the VFL. I remember Miller Bergman, Wil Dawson and RHJ came in when they weren’t ready and all copped injuries which take them a long time to recover from. I would also argue that poor form at afl level and early injuries hinders their confidence.

Connor O Sullivan from the Cats (and all their key defenders) is a great example. They let them find their feet in the vfl and once they play at the level they stay in the team.

If Clarko thinks he is physically ready to go, then bring him in. But otherwise I’m happy for him to tear it up at VFL level until then.

He should play early and a good point made that skinny kids are getting a go, Trainor going ok and the Hawks have benefited from a couple of lighter frames developing early.

Problem is where he goes which probably sounds strange but two games in Comben, Corr and Logue/Pink have handled themselves pretty well even if there has been some periods they let themselves down. Of course there's a real test tomorrow, if someone has a mare he may get in before Logue returns.
Yea see how they go tomorrow 👍🏻 would be a cheat code to have him and Chom both intercepting haha

That Richmond pick will be that valuable pick 1 in the 2nd round.

I like the idea of just being a bit taller down back and playing Whitlock as a 4th KPD. Corr, Logue, Comben aren't big stiffs or anything. And Whitlock can move, as well.

I have no doubt in my mind we will be trading our second round picks to a club who needs points and they will be sending us a juicy first round pick. We are playing 5D chess.

Probably let Pink play well until he doesn’t and then make the switch.

With Adelaide’s forwards, this change could be made as early as next week.

Only do that if there is value for a highly rated FPF, silky goal sneak or powerful HB.

Otherwise for mine, let Thursfield get to work on using two second round picks (for the first time in a decade?).

Mmmm..if the big gum tree moved like a Leopard, kicked both feet with ease and had a great footy IQ at 18 years old you would probably have a case :stern look

I personally would prefer the selection in the first round with a historically higher chance of success.

Just need to bring his brother home to Vic in a reverse JHF move to be our Darling replacement in a year or two.

That’d be nice. He isn’t going to get many looks at it in the Port SANFL side as they are pretty atrocious.

Had his first game yesty, had 9 disposals, 1 goal and 2 marks.
