3rd Test

STUMPS - DAY TWO:

Australia: 9 for 605 declared
Waugh 115
Ponting 113
Lehmann 96
Langer 78
Bichel 71
Gilchrist 65

West Indies: 0 for 89
Gayle 47 not out
Smith 34 not out

There's not a lot in the pitch for the bowlers, a bit of slow turn for MacGill but that's about it.

The windies attack with 9 tests and 37 wickets experience between them would almost go close to the least experienced bowling attack ever wouldn't it. The only bad thing about making 600 against this sort of attack is standing in the filed for the next three days straight.

probably the only attacks with less experience is when nations play in their first couple of tests :o

And alrounder Andy Bichel made 71

I amazes me that with search for an "Allrounder" in Australia that we had one under our noses all the time.

If anyone watched the first Shield win by QLD (1995) one A. Bichel made 38 IIRC and it was quite obvious that he could bat even then.

Here's an interesting fact...

If Dizzy and McGrath take 10 wickets between them this test or whenever, they will become Australia's most prolific opening bowling partnership in terms of taking wickets.

Just found out Lara has chicken pox. You would think he will not bat in this test
Yeah, I heard that on the radio. If true, the match will be a fizzer.

Bring on the mighty Bangladesh. :p

Don't laugh about the Bangla's, they will be a top Test nation in around 8-10 years time. When I went to the subcontinent in 2000, I saw more kids playing cricket in Bangladesh than I did in India, and that's really saying something. Anyone who has been to India will know what I mean !!

a tough day, only 5 wickets. no certainties to win the test. certainties to win the series though and claim the 2 points for the ICC table.

two wickets in the morning should be enough to claim victory. would be nice to see us chase 100 in ten overs at the end to win.

Could of had Lara if it wasn't for Ponting's butter fingers

Jason's performance in this match considering what a flat bat track the wicket is has been outstanding - in fact he has been great all tour, clearly head and shoulders above the other bowlers

ONYA DIZZIE!

System still needs to be worked out properly. SA did not deserve to take the trophy away from Australia when the Aussies were a better team than SA.

chicken pox??

replace "chicken" with "raging" and replace "pox" with "hangover" and then you have the problem for Brian Lara :D

this was my suspicion when I first heard the news, and when they said it was his birthday during the test it was confirmed in my mind.
