Another who lacks complete composure when the pace and pressure ramps up. WTAF are we doing at training. No way we train with intensity. We fumble and f*ck around trying to grab the ball.

North needs to desperately ramp up our intensity at training. Our skills on game day are appalling.
They don’t train on the park enough. 2 hrs a week plus Captains run? It isnt enough, AFLPA rules.

Not sure about this guy.
He was 2m off the goal line, he tried to pick the ball up.. but a simple off the ground and it would have gone through.. the opposite of what Zurhaar tried to do 20 metres out, where he should have picked the ball up..

We do so much dumb shit on the field. Riddled with poor decisions. In most players

Not sure about this guy.
I’ve probably filled too many threads with this, but I feel he’s another victim of our lack of intensity at training……..ipso facto, when the intensity ramps up on game day he’s just a touch “off” the pace and over runs the ball or fumbles at crucial times.
Actually think he’s got some weapons.

Enough of the budget battler small forwards! Invest some draft capital in a classy zippy goal sneak!!!!
We've been moneyballing one of the most important positions in the game while other clubs have taken risks and spent big on small forwards. How many list spots have we used trying to recreate Kosi Pickett in the aggregate and haven't even got to half his output between four guys?

Does every club have quality small forwards? I think Carltons are trash, do Gold Coast have one? They have similar to us with Curtis in Ben Long? How many small forwards are better than Paul Curtis?

The Kosi Pickett’s are hard to find. We ****ed that up too. Borderline Bradys doing. Gee he’s a spud

Crom: Rankine (fell into their lap), Rachele
The club formerly known as Fitzroy: Cameron (fell into their lap), Ah Chee (fell into their lap)
Carltank: Motlop (flaky, ok when he tries, shit when he doesn't)
Filth: Elliott, Hill (fell into their lap)
*: Kako, Gresham (meh)
Fremd: Bolton (fell into their lap), Walters (past it), Switkowski
Cotton On: Miers, Stengle (fell into their lap, requires maintenance)
Surfers Paradise: Long
Orange Team: Daniels
Hawf: Watson, Moore
Godees: Pickett, Spargo (past it)
NM: Curtis (plays more like a hybrid), tumbleweeds
Pear: Rioli (fell into their lap)
Tiggers: Rioli (spud version)
St Hilda: Higgins (fell into their lap)
Cola: Papley
Toast: Ryan, Cripps (both arguably past it), Owies (rich man's Cooper Harvey)
Stunning And Brave: Weightman

Aside from Richmond, we're behind most teams in the half-decent small forward stakes. We're not as fortunate in that we're not that appealing a proposition for trade options, but we haven't worked much to rectify things. Some actual capital expended on the position would be nice

You call Curtis a hybrid then name 15 players who are hybrids?

I have a hatred of labelling players 185cm+ as small forwards. That's mid-sized in the midfield. Curtis is only here out of charitability. Hybrid forward playing like a small out of necessity
Small forward is a role tho. If you play like one you are one. Lt used to take heaps of marks, even tho he was small. But he still kicked opportunistic crumbing goals, or set them up with good crumbing, and provided alot of forward pressure - tackles + repeat stoppages sort of thing (and frees.) Those players do that.

That's a fair enough view. Probably a bit hypocritical of me to allow blokes who are short and still good marks, but not blokes who play that way who are a bit taller than average. I just don't like the idea of expanding the net is all.

Anyway, I think it's evident we've neglected the position

Forgetting Seth Campbell for the Tiges.

I would be interested to hear from posters who regularly go to training and see what opinion they have with the intensity we train with.

Yes please - me too. I constantly hear from folk who go to training how piss weak our training is. Is that true? I know BBB commented when he went to Melbourne how much harder they train. I've heard the same comments anecdotally from friends - is it true? Do we not go hard enough? Ironically a friend who is NM said the other day whenever you see NM on the TV news training it looks like they are doing kick to kick. You see other teams and they seem much harder at it. So track watchers - what do you guys think?

Yes it is piss weak.

BBB, Dal Santo, Wood and I swear David King has said it a few times when he watched our training. I have made a thread on it years ago, it’s been a huge issue since Bard.
