We couldn't get to most contests in the defensive 50. The amount of uncontested marks they took in the forward half was just staggering, I mean, teams that tanked in the past were more effectively defensively, if that was trying then we are in trouble.

Yes that tends to happen if they can rebound and deliver inside 50 with little pressure

The Jesse Hogan goal in the 2nd quarter was directly from Xavier O’Halloran slightly pushing Hall off the ball and winning it easily.

Genuinely looked like a man pushing a boy off the ball.

Sort of thing you’d expect Zurhaar to do to Fahey.

Except it was their 20 year old and our 30+ year old.

Weak and no amount of uncontested footy makes up for it. He’s also not a Daicos type kick either.

Azza’s drawbacks stick out like sore thumbs. However, he does give us great penetration at times. If we had other areas sorted out, Hall would be a real weapon. Unfortunately, he’s the wrong age demographic right now.

that was what stood out too me - we are so easy to score against. Transition has improved a lot, but so much to do in the back half

  • Aaron Hall was the only player on the ground today with zero clangers.

What about the metric of putting a team mate under the pump once disposing of the pill.

He’s the Michael Jordan of that..

It’s no surprise he has such a s**t win loss record over his career

Played in only 1 of our wins in the last 2 years

Is not a team player
It's higher than LDU's and Larkey's. Might have to go back to poring over his stats to try and find a different stat to justify your hate fixation on the metres-gained-record-holding :goat:

If you a) bomb it long, b) put a teammate under pressure so you can avoid a tackle, and c) fail to win hard ball gets, then it is much less likely you’ll receive a clanger (free against, direct turnover). Wardlaw had 6 (still had 2 turnovers, same as Hall). He was one of our best. Toby Greene, best afield, had 4.

Match winning creative players get clanger stats. Petracca, De Goey, Warner all top 10 in the comp, alongside other hard ball mids like Tim Kelly (league leader in ground ball gets), Green, Coniglio & Taranto.

Rankine, J.Cameron, Oliver & Dawson all top 20.

Clangers pretty much not that useful a stat. About 7 of the top 20 for total clangers on track for AA years, with another 2-3 in line for the squad.

Jazny tell your mate hall he’s a giant cat and to not worry about boarding the plane back

What are you gonna do next year when he’s not on a list? Still lurk around

Larkey 26 goals in our last 6 wins.

By end of this year, I expect LDU will have polled 5-6 Brownlow votes in our last 3 wins, plus a 3 v Pies last year in a narrow loss.

Hall 38 touches in some of our worse losses, half the reason he gets so many is because he pings it for the other team to pong it back through the points.
