I'm not sure that warranted airing, but then again, good on the club for being up front.

He's just so clean and quick below his knees. He's going to surprise quite a few, I think.
Massively under-recognised quality of footballers, particularly midfielders. The time someone can take to gather a ball and be in a position to effectively dish off is massive. Zac Fisher is elite. Cripps is really good. Diesel, Sam Mitchell were elite. It's my biggest concern for Kennedy that he's slow in this way, Plowman too although being a back it doesn't matter so much but he does get into pressure ground ball situations and is slow to gather and give. I really think if we can get Setterfield right he'll be the missing link in the midfield. It's this ability that separates guys like Nick Graham and Brock McLean from the elite small players of the league. IMO it was one of Bryce Gibbs weaknesses too and why he was always more suited to an outside role than an inside role though he was still more than handy as an inside mid so you can still be useful without being elite in this area but it's not ideal in big pressure situations. SPS is very good in this area and even Dow and O'Brien have shown to be quick one grab.

Hopefully Setterfield can get a continued run at things, I hear he brings good pressure as well. If he can go forward a bit and impact too then even better. Probably will as he's probably not going to be at absolute peak fitness.

Years and years of having mids who are fumblers and slow with their hands, you can see what the recruiters want.

We’ll they’ve certainly an acceptable midfield and throw in Smith, Zakarakis and a few other parts timers it’s not shabby .
Dons are a tanented outfit, if they have a little luck keeping Daniher on the park they’ll be banging the door down to the top 4.
I think spell check couldn’t accept talented and thought you were going for “tainted” and got stuck half way. :D

22 disposals a game still isn’t bad though, only 4 less than Merrett and Heppell.

Something to remember with Smith, the most prolific tackler in 2018... hrs 1cm taller and 5kg heavier that Fisher. Looking forward to what Zac can do after another preseason.

Speaking of preseason, wonder how hard Kennedy is pushing Will? There was that video floating around a couple of days after the trade showing Matty challenging Will to push-up competitions (what it seemed like anyway) and was schooling him.

Can anyone link this footage of Matt please ?

Plow is far better than Francis
Not like-for-like players. Francis killed it towards the back end of the year, and looks a future gun.

Plowman is so overrated on this board, and I wouldn’t be at all surprised to see him outside of our best 22 at the end of next season.

Deadset trier, OK defensively but ideally he’s depth long-term.

Yes but then why bother with the exercise as we could easily say McKay Weitering and a few others will be better than their essendon counterparts

Kid will be a superstar! Me my words!
Will turn out to be the trade of the year. Still can't believe we got him. Much better player than Shiel and cost less and still has a decade ahead of him. Clean, tough, great skills. Close to the complete player. Fitness is now the key.

Pick 3 vs pick 6, Plow wins.

Be careful you diss Plowman around here, you may as well shoot Bambi or his mother.

I think your wrong and your under rating him. I been watching football a loooong time I like to think I know a good player when I see it. He is a good versatile footballer. A friend of mine that goes to games with me thought as you do for a time. He has changed his mind because I gave him stick for ages....:D

I reckon essenscum know that aswell, they tried to get Setters deal done before the Shiel deal ..
Let's hope the footy gods can be with us for a change and give us a dream run on the Injury front .

I rate Plow but Francis is a star. I rated him No.1 in his draft year. If he can get things together watch out. Elite level player
Agree Francis’s further development, Shiel acquisition and keeping Joe Daniher on the park will be the 3 elements that will help carry Bombers very close to top 4 in 2019.

At 23 and 70 games if he can get fit he will step. I expect a big season from him
