One thing not to under-estimate is that there are a lot of GOP Congress-people who have been over-taken in the pecking order by Gaetz. They know he's a se+ pest and has been sharing this filth with them, so what's the incentive for them to keep their mouth shut? The party has no morals to pretend to clutch the pearls over any more.

Clearly better for them to air his filth, send Gaetz down the tube, thus moving themselves one more spot up the pecking order (and also take out this piece of human garbage). The extremes of "populist" selfishness don't end with treatment of voters, but inevitable eat organisations like this from the inside.

MOST of the GOP congresspeople are on Cheney's side and anti-Trump behind closed doors. As soon as there's blood in the water with any Trumpistas like Gaetz, the GOP is going to leak faster than a sieve.

Electorally, the GOP congress-people need to appear to be Pro-Trump, but for most donors, congress-people and anyone who knows anything about politics, they know that the Trump-wing is going to drag them all down.
