This will be one of those decisions. Either a masterstroke or waste and not much room in between IMO.

On the negative side you'd have to argue that a small albeit very clean half back that couldn't hold his spot in a team of perennial underperformers isn't worth 25 at face value.

On the positive side this absolutely leaves room to push McKercher up to a proper wing / mid position. If he puts on some size this off season he has the wheels to take his year 1 impact which - outside of Sheezel who looks like the best of a generation - was probably close to the best debut year from a North player since maybe Wells.

Rightly or wrongly this is a pickup along with Parker that means a couple of plodders make way and the remainder who are lucky enough to have a spot have way less hiding places on field.

North player now so get round him and get some wins.
