With Arch and Riley coming in and doing a good job, move him to high half forward. If it comes off we solve a weakness and our leading forwards benefit.
No, just drop him. I’d rather Duursma play. Why do people suggest moving them to different spots? They are stinking it up, they should be dropped not moved.

Goater should see him lose his position anyway.

You realise we have to spend the TPP? Who you going to give the money to? Fringe North players? Boost up already over paid North players? SMH!

I meant the second round draft pick, which in turn led us to trading our first this year. I'm convinced that could have gone down differently if Brady didn't cave immediately. Dogs clearly didn't want him.

No dont give me that. We didn’t have the pick. The trading of the future first has nothing to do with that. Brady was trying to sell that pick before we grabbed Daniel. The pick should not have been traded, has nothing to do with Daniel.

Whitkock should have been left on the draft table. Thats it.

Whitlock is a speculative tall we traded a future first for. Thats the bigger problem

that 2024 draft is already shaping up as a superdraft, already 3rd rounders including the camporale twins, Bice and Davidson are showing form.

Add to that 4th round speculative talent such as Urquart and Alger who i think will be hits. and Richmond played the draft perfectly whilst we traded out of it! Trainor at 21 will be an absolute bargain.

Disaster on field.

Disaster trade.

This club man….

The decisions just get worse in hindsight.
I hate the fact I tried to give snoz the benefit of doubt with this trade. An absolute disaster given the quality in the draft at that pick. Has to be moved up the ground because he’s absolutely murdering us out of defence.

I'm not against it and we'll have better standards in the long run. I just think realistically we've invested so much that I don't we'll drop him yet. Also high HFs run almost as much as mids these days and opposition stack their HBs with good players. So factoring in rotations and he potentially gets a bit more time to be more damaging with his kicking, I'd like to explore it. BGZ defs part of that rotation.

It’s interesting looking at the Bulldogs B&F in the last 4 years and seeing where Daniel placed.

Bevo is no idiot, and he and the match committee would have seen the decline in form and effectiveness, and hence why he was made sub on multiple occasions last year.

At the same time you see the improvement of the likes of Richard’s, Bramble, Freijah and Sanders. He then tops up with players from other clubs like Harmes and Kennedy (they combined for 6 goals last night!!).

So Bevo thinks I have an expensive liability that is going to be surplus to requirements based on the current form trajectory of Daniel (down) and the above players (up). Not sure if he was offered a real low ball to hang around, or they said you are welcome to look around if you think you can do better.

I have no doubt Daniel’s manager would have been pushing the line he is being squeezed out, has so much to offer, AA, Club B&F and Premiership and Bevo has it in for him. He is also one of the gun short kick exponents in the competition.

So Clarko/Viney present to the Board for endorsement (or not 😎) we just have to bring in experience into this club for the kids to develop. Ideally we get 3 players for each line (Back/Mid/Fwd). Sounds like a solid plan, but make sure you do your due diligence on those you are targeting. Would love to see the paperwork. It might be next to the Fisher and CCF files.

To date Parker has been excellent value and you only had to see his game last night. Plus all the development and hardness to lift as an onfield coach for George, FOS, Powell etc.

Darling has been doing his job. While low in numbers has been good for Larkey and PC in terms of allowing them a little more freedom. If our I50 game was half competent, we would see even more scoring. Larkey’s kicking and marking has also been poor in the last 2 games.

Daniel is recruited to play in one of the worst backlines in the competition. A little General if you like to guide and inspire those around him to make them better. We get fed over the summer (our Media team are good) glowing reports about his preseason and how good a kick he is. On a motivation front, we have the Dogs in round 1. Time to show Bevo he was wrong and I am going to play the game of my life. We lose and Mr Daniel offers 6 turnovers and gets 4 contested possessions from 24 (17 as 7 were kick ins). Since then he has shown the following.

1. Inability to win a 1/1 contest. 0.7 spoils a game.
2. Lack of composure and poor decision making in trying to exit the ball out of defense.
3. Poor disposal to hit basic targets as evident by his 2 OOB efforts last night.

I really don’t have a bad word to say about Daniel as a person. Never met him, seems like a good guy and anyone who makes the AFL and plays just one game has achieved already in my book.

My issue is the Club making this decision to recruit him and the cost of that decision. Is it salvageable? Can they use Daniel elsewhere? 7 games in and I am not Nostradamus here, but this is a Bust. It is just another example of incompetence that hold the club to the bottom of the ladder. There is no accountability and appears no governance in whoever thought this was the best thing for the club to help fix our backline. You reap what you sow.

Disposal Efficiency at 82.2 average. 😵‍💫

Averaging 27.3 Disposals. 21st in the Comp. 🤪

Leads the team for defensive half pressure acts. 😵‍💫

Gee those are weird stats vs what we see in the game.

Pressure acts are a weird one. Does he get one for looking like he’s putting pressure on while his opponent doesn’t appear to notice?

Had a shocker and it was a surprise to me, with our lift in intensity he should have been under less pressure. IMO saved by Tucker this week but on thin ice and wouldn't want to drop his run even if disposal results aren't there.

Clearly the amount of disposals Daniel is having is due to the fact that he is taking the kick ins. :stern look

And what defines Disposal Efficiency? How many kicks from Daniel have just fallen short of his target or put his teammate under pressure because it hasn’t traveled 15 metres? :stern look

Plus I’m with you with that Pressure Act Stat. But having said that he is 10th at the club for average tackles laid at 2.7 a game. :stern look

Goater will play a few games in the vfl before he comes back into the seniors..

Playing him at half back is like gifting the opposition an extra man in their forward line.

To balance up our defence I’d prefer if he played on a wing and just pushed back hard to set up plays. At least that way our defence wouldn’t be out gunned every week and we could have an actual defender down there
But how about his Pressure Acts RF08? 😵‍💫

Daniel's form didn't drop off in 2024, he was made sub and played in the forward line instead of on the back line. Straight away.
