Player Watch #5: Caleb Daniel

Just checking in on our boy Caleb. Great to see he is playing well.

Dolan has the physical development of a 12yo girl, yet we are giving him games from round #1 in his first year. That should tell you how they view him. Will be a player for sure.

win win
Daniel is exactly what we need in our backline. Now if you will also trade Dale for this year's second then it will be a Win/ I don't care.

Think we got him from the Swans .Just looked him up won our reserves best and fairest played 2 senior games in 1998 and kicked a goal then did his acl.

The Roos had Dion Miles.

The Swans had Dion Myles.

He took 8 out of the 12 kick ins

Now assuming they go on average about 50m each that’s already 400m

hes kicking 50m down straight down the guts to a player every time? thats incredibly beneficial for the team if true.

A sideways kick gets no MG. Not all kickins are equal. If a player is racking up big MG from kickins, they are doing something right. Thats why you give the job to your best kickers

yeah, but think what we could have done with 27.

Still hurts.
Sheesh Merlin - Daniel has been a deadset revelation down back.

He has the odd howler but his attacking kicking is a big reason why we've hit the scoreboard so often in the first two games.

You watch him, his first instinct off half back is to go forward and preferably through the corridor.

I'll take that over the crabbing we've witnessed over the past few years.

He needs to start hitting targets

The problem is there are no targets to hit

He genuinely missed open, easy 20m kicks with open players on half a dozen occasions all the while running himself into trouble more often than not.

The blame lays on his for terrible execution.

Outside of the 2nd half of the Melbourne game he has been very underwhelming and honestly not much of an upgrade on Fisher.

Bang on. I gave him a mulligan for the Bulldogs game given round 1 against his old side, but his following 6/8 quarters have not brought what we got him for.

Very accurate observation

Club release telling us he lost his right leg in a car accident during the week?

I don’t see any real noticeable difference with Fisher in all honesty.

Fisher may have been a better kick and Daniel harder around the ball. It’s negligible.
