Five changes to Adelaide’s list
Adelaide has delisted five players from the 2009 primary list.

They are Robert Shirley, Nick Gill, Greg Gallman, Aaron Kite and Tom Lee.

Now Gallman, Gill and Shirley are no surprise.

Kites been spruiked on here as gone for a while now,

and Lee was in the firering line, but I thought they may persist.

Hmmmm, 4 picks in the ND unless they upgrade Schmidt.

That's probably 1 more pick than I expected given Rendells comments.

More curveballs by the big man maybe?

I hope we use that 4th pick on Jesse Smith.

No surprises really, although Shirley is a victim of the 4 over 30's being kept.

Gill, Galllman and Kite were obvious.

Lee didn't make the effort to be a SANFL player let alone an AFL player, so cut without serving the 2nd year of his contract.

Well done by the club. Got it right in my book.

Would likely get a few games next year you'd imagine. Just has to work on his consistancy in winning and loosing teams by all reports.

Surprised that Lee was delisted, thought they might've given him another year - I get the feeling we have got ourselves a bit of a KPP bolter target in this draft.

Predictable changes otherwise though, it was Shirley's time after many years of solid service. Good luck to him with his post-football endeavours. Gill...well he could've found a spot but couldn't get the body right - at pick 64 it was worth a punt. Gallman had the build of the modern footballer but had nothing in the trick bag, and I'm not sure what the deal with Kite is. Maybe some concerns there we weren't aware of.

I think they'll use picks 13, 29 and 45, saving one for the PSD, whether that be for Jesse Smith or whoever.

Excuse the intrusion but could someone tell me where Schmidt sits at the moment? Is he pushing hard for promotion, etc?

The last time I heard he was out for the season with a shoulder reconstruction IIRC and of course my interest comes from the fact he was originally on our list. I haven't been able to find much discussion about him in you "Locker Room", etc.

Playing League for North Adelaide in the SANFL, mainly in defence, occasionally on the wing. Has had a few really good games but then again some not so good, but he should be looking towards selection early next season, was unlucky not to get a game this year.

You can't rookie list a player from your senior list straight to the rookie list....or at least you couldn't unless the rule got changed as well.

If we want to rookie list him then we would have pick him up in the rookie draft like any other player.

Bit surprised by the delistings. Not particularly the names but the number of them. All were pretty much up for delisting but I thought given the shitty draft, we would delist 4 and upgrade Martin meaning 3 picks.

This either means that we are planning to upgrade Schmidt, or save a pick for the PSD or Rendell is confident he can pick up 4 quality kids in this draft.

In any event, didn't expect to see Lee cut but he really has had a miserable year. We could have had almost anyone in the entire SANFL reserves and they would have had a better year than Lee did. Hopefully he can go away, get his head in the right place and maybe have another crack at the AFL in a year or two.

Four picks in the ND or three picks and a PSD pick? That's the question. Rendell mentioned recently that some KPPs have come out of the woodwork that would surprise some people so I think amer's prediction of a bolter KPP target may be on the money. Either that or we have a reason to think a mature player is going to slip through to us in the PSD.
