I don't know if this has been mentioned already but did anybody hear how 5aa had their usual Crow love-in with their so called game day experience innovation plans. This went on for a while until Matress came on to talk about the boys. Not only could they appear less interested, Rowey kept talking about the basketball score while he was talking to Primus.

Yeah but when you consider the 100% of Crows supporters obsessed with Port Adelaide then the split should really be higher than it currently is.

The army of anti-Port mouthbreathers faxing and ringing in to denounce the 1870/LTC initiative is proof of this.

A bit bias view point. Kane Cornes runs a 9:21 of the uni loop and Port supporters immediately go and check what the crows best time was. That is the definition of obsession

1. Are you here to get a PAFC Obsession fix?

2. You didn't have to go looking for the camry players best time as it was plastered all over the Advertiser web site.

Hey, you should cut the guy some slack. He also belted Graham Cornes when he was at Glenelg, so he's not so bad afterall :)

I can never forget or forgive the little feral!

We didn't have to go anywhere to check. It was trumpeted in the Tiser.

Go start a troll thread on Bay 13 why don't you. I know the opportunities are slim given the weekends footy results but surely you can come up with something.

Edit:- Sorry footyhead I didn't see you'd already pointed out the Tiser having an orgasm over Van Berlo or whoever it was.

Obsession, lol. You mean like the crow supporter who rang up AA today frothing at the mouth because Rowe dared to praise Port's performance against Sydney? He went so ballistic Cornesy nearly told him to get stuffed (mind you the caller did refer to Cornes as an ignorant fool or some such epithet).

(Yeah I have to admit I was listening, but it was after they interviewed Carry, so I plead spillover effect :p).

Yep, heard that. In fact, Rowie even went as far as to infer that our inside-outside mid unit is a match for Geelong. This was one of the few times they had an in depth discussion about Port(or at least Rowie), and when he did they went ballistic.

That wouldn't be Trevor you're talking about? He was tremendous. Once he actually realised what an ass he looked he pathetically attempted to mask his anti-Port rubbish as some kind of concern for "the people who bet on football matches".

A-Grade bellend.

yeah, listened to hear Josh Carr, heard Rowie's comment and then the dill who rang in after that. Rowe is correct that we have a decent mid field but they have to perform week in week out to be compared to Geelong. Our inconsistency has been our problem in the past. We need these guys to perform week in week out.

Not hard to find out when the Advertiser blows their load with article after article about how great Van Averages fitness is.

edit: I see others have already mentioned it....still need to learn to read the whole thread first :o

Hahahah yes. "People will listen to you two and go out and bet on Port, it's irresponsible."

Mindblowingly stupid.

i know its not related to this line of discussion but it warmed the bottom of my heart to hear Ditmar have a crack straight at Studville yesterday before the sydney game!

"Just for Graham Cornes's benefit Dom Cassisi is the 61st captain of the PORT ADELAIDE FOOTBALL club" (well close enough to a quote)

I long for the day when media in this state can break teh shakles of small mindedness and actually report the truth about the Crows and their failings, i had to re-read Chris McDermott's article on Griffo i thought Triggy's number one rule down at the corporation was "Thou Shall not Question the Establishment"?!?!

As in, it being something we apparently take joy in saying we don't listen to, while exhibiting that we do?

lol great early call there porthos. I rarely listen anymore but when i have caught rowey it seems hes doesnt really base it on his game day commentary which was terrible. I'd have liked to hav seen someone who is interested in other sports get the gig but clearly with the amount of answers in this thread 5aa made the right call.

Legend has it that Greg Phillips went up to Scooter before the start of the 1990 GF and told him that if anything happened to Gav that day, Scott wouldn't be walking off the ground. David Hynes repeated the message just in case it didn't sink in the first time. Gav saw the game out and kicked two super goals, Salisbury walked off the ground a loser. Ah heady days.

ah look, we all like to believe these stories, but the Bays had plenty of hatchet men - the stringer bros spring to mind - I'm sure Salisbury wasn't too worried. never thought him clever enough to take such things seriously :)

and phillips was too slow by then to threaten the goal post!

Utter dog.

Honestly...if he was a Port player, he'd be thought of the same as Granger....dirty thug, blight on the game etc. Gets away with it because he wore a different jumper. Absolute mongrel of a footballer who spent the last 4 years of his career hitting young blokes off the ball.

oh c'mon now, he wasn't a patch on Grave D.

Nathan Buckley doesn't have a high opinion of Scott Salisbury, has something to do with the knee to Bucks jewels in the 1992 G/F

LOL at the faux tough guys the Stringers. I don't think they ever looked anyone in the eye and hit them. Say what you like about Dave, but he'd deck a guy from any angle.

As for Salisbury you're right about Greg's pace, but Salisbury would have to run past Greg sometime ... it's when they get you coming the other way that hurts. ;)

Alan & Wayne Stringer had the round arm punch to the face oh ump I was trying to spoil that mark practised to a fine art

They always hit the bloke when he had his eyes on the footy, real tough guys..

You mean in our piss ant town.

Vidmar was right in his words to a degree, with limited media, it is quite easy for media with an Agenda to cause issues. However, at Port we are lucky that never happens

Selective memory, Ford. I never saw Dave G. hit anyone front on. In fact I recall a game at Alberton when Dave stood Ray Hayes ( playing for West ) and them both facing up to each other and not throwing a punch . This happened on two occasions.

If Dave wanted to throw one at someone front on ,then that was his perfect chance, but no.

Yeah you've rolled out your N=1 case study before (speaking of selective memory). Dave would've been all of 19-20 then. To even square off at Hayesy at that age with Ray's reputation was a fair effort.

So how many Port games have you been to during Dave's time? As I said, he hit people from anywhere, depending on his mood. I've seen him look guys like Ugo Colosante and Peter Anderson square on and crack them. They're about as big and ugly as you'll get. Even Cornesy saw (and heard) his coming ... as did Peter Maynard (altho that was a bit of a fish in a barrel job) ;)

You leave my no. 1 case study alone. I went to many a Port game, as to my great shame a couple of my best friends played for the bastards.

I never saw him hit anyone front on, many times from the side and a few from the back.Sorry but Salisbury ( and I hated his guts ) did more front on fighting than Dave ever did.

The guy grew a commercial sized marijuana crop in his yard that was visible from the street - FEARLESS!
