Standout

Round 14, 2020 (versus Essendon): Earned maximum votes in the Yabby Medal for this round with 16 disposals and seven marks in defence, as the Hawks led the Bombers for most of the afternoon but fell away in the last quarter and a bit to go down to the rivals. Was a rock across half-back in this match, as well as several other games during the season as the Hawks tended to play McEvoy in defence rather than in the ruck.

Shocker

Round 15, 2020 (versus Adelaide): From chocolates to boiled lollies, McEvoy had (like many of his teammates) a clunker against the Crows. Just five disposals and three marks as the Crows were able to bypass McEvoy's presence at half-back to put a winning score on the board for the first time in 2020.

I can't believe he had the 20th most hitouts in the league when playing predominantly in the backline.

The Port game he was immense but I don't remember any other games of significance to help inflate the figures. Out of curiosity, where does Ceglar sit on this list?

On his year, when we were on top or breaking even in the midfield, he was able to set up really well and intercept but when we weren't, clubs bypassed him (possibly a tactic from oppo coaches) to great effect.

A really strong year though all the same.
