so our midfield going forward is

last legs gawn
winding down viney
useless without cocaine oliver
wants to leave petracca
Don't forget old twelve touches Tommy Sparrow

Viney and his team bent the club over with the current turmoil and the rumours of North being interested. Viney got the deal he wanted. Kudos to them.

A lot of years for a player that plays a battering ram style and really has no other strings to his bow.

I love Viney, but his age is showing. He's not tall like a max where he can Sandilands a few extra seasons out of his height, He's not an athletic runner with agility that can keep getting to the right spots on work rate with his age.

You take the contest away from Viney, he's cooked. Sidebottom did that to perfection and most other teams will as well. Other than mid i don't know what other roles he can play. We tried the same with Jones who was a battering ram at times, and he couldn't adapt as a forward or half back

His leadership and courage is fantastic, but it might be served teaching the kids in the 2s (although we all know Goodwin names his favourites, and Viney is one of his all time favourites)

I'm more than happy to be proven wrong, after all i never thought i'd see tmac play consistent football again. But Viney feels over the hill and might just keep on sliding downward

Love it when players talk about being self less only to then listen to offers from an opposition club to pressure the MFC into giving them an over extended contract they know full right they won’t deliver value on.

Apparently only attended 55% of centre bounces last night, so...where else was he? Did they actually put him up forward? I genuinely couldn't tell you despite watching the whole game, because he was a ghost out there.

Wonder how Jack feels? I get he would be pretty prideful but with three years after this one we are in 'pay him out' territory, especially if we're going to suck as the cap space won't matter as much.

in 2-3 years we'll be using his salary just to make the salary floor and avoid overpaying spuds, great forward thinking from Tim Lamb tbh

Give him the Luke Parker treatment and make him play in the reserves. He will find the exit himself during trade period.

I was off Jack when he did the "fk you I got mine" bs with NM to bloat his contract. But now he sucks as well. 4 years of sucking and taking midfield time off developing youngsters. Brutal.

Whatever leadership thought we needed a good news story so caved on Jack, they can jump out a window onto a soft mattress and roll themselves away from AAMI park too.

That’s where Viney got his touches. Pretty much all between the arcs with just one in the back 50 and none won closer than about 65 metres from goals.
