The way Jack mentioned premiership sounded like he's had to be reprogrammed to realise that, like it hadn't been a long term goal. As odd as it sounds.
At the end?

I think it was him showing the realisation that he's gonna miss out, even as heartbreakingly as Nathan Jones did this year. Ie we win in 2023 but he's not in the senior side anymore. I reckon he knows he is gonna just miss out.

But that's good. As Sam Durden once said "You have to know (not fear) that one day you are going to die. You have to embrace it. Until you do you are useless."

I can only expect he will put more pressure on himself next year in Taz's absence and have an even better year in 2022.

Get Laz and Hallie gunning the ball forward, Big Ben stopping the monsters, Turner stopping the littlies and McDonald and Corr intercepting and we will have a pretty settled backline.

We just need to be injecting new blood in there every season or two.

Jack’s river pad kicks goals

NORTH Melbourne captain JACK ZIEBELL is trading up his Maribyrnong “bachelor pad” for a new family home.

The footballer recently inked a new two-year deal to stay on with the Kangaroos, and now he’s scored a $1.845m sale for his four-bedroom, two-bathroom house at 99 Dale St. Alexkarbon Real Estate North Melbourne director Charles Bongiovanni said the luxurious riverside home smashed its $1.6m- $1.75m price hopes in a Zoom auction.

“It was something he bought when he was single in 2016, and it was a bit of a bachelor pad with the pool and everything,” Mr Bongiovanni said.

“He used to rotate (rooms for) some of the young boys from the club when they would first come in, to help them find their feet.

“Jack and his fiancee had their first child not long ago and they’re getting married soon and just felt it was time to buy a new family home.”

Three family buyers fought it out for the modern double-storey property, after “really good interest” and an early offer brought the campaign to a head.

It features an expansive family zone, complete with a solar-heated lap pool and an alfresco area offering “sensational indooroutdoor living”, according to the realestate.com.au listing.

Meanwhile, the main bedroom enjoys access to a private balcony and ensuite.

Mr Bongiovanni said Ziebell, who has notched 239 AFL games since his 2009 debut, and partner

SHANNIE BYRNE

were planning to move closer to family.

“They’ve loved the entertaining area and the big void in the living room,” the agent added. “Its location is very tranquil with lots of trees around, and having the Maribyrnong River right there is a great plus.

“There are parklands and tracks, which you can walk right through to Aberfeldie.”

The residence also includes a separate dining and spacious lounge leading to a terrace balcony, where the buyers will be treated to views of the river.

Ziebell has served as North’s captain since the end of 2016, and is on track to join just 18 other Roos in the illustrious 250-game club. The skipper also sits in the top 30 in the club’s history for goals kicked, with a total of 165. christina.karras@news.com.au

That isn't far from school. Remember those 12km runs we used to do that ended up on the Maribyrnong, along the Boulevard there? its right opposite that.

When i was a kid that area hadn't been neatened up/gentrified and we'd sometimes go there for beers.

Scotts today..

It's definitely a subject that Jack should be expected to comment on.

It affects which blokes he leads out onto the field as captain.

Good to hear Sleevo has softened his stance and sought more information.

Next up on the to address list for Jack: bit of running and cardio.
