8. Lance Whitnall

This thread is devoted to the man, Lance Whitnall.

This time last year, I, along with many other carlton supporters, were calling to trade him. However, the way in which he has ressurected his career has been nothing short of MAGNIFICENT.

If only we had a Lance Whitnall for either end. We need him down back and up forward. Has mainly been playing in the backline, with stints 5n the forward line. Looks very comfortable down back, and still knows how to kick a goal or two when moved forward. Has a great footy brain, and is our on field captain, especially this year.

I have come to the conclusion that Lance Whitnall is the next captain of the carlton football club. Kouta will not be captain past this year, Nick Stevens will NEVER be the captain of the carlton football club, and Fev will get it after Lance. The leadership which Lance shows is brilliant and he is to be really commended for his positivity on and off the field. One such instant is prior to last year when he scheduled extra training sessions to get himself into shape. He is willing to work hard for the footy club, he bleeds for us, tries his guts out, is an inspiration, and I love him. What a magnificent role model for the younger players in the team, and even juniors coming through the ranks.

Lance is in AA form currently, and if he continues this form he will have a magnificent year. Will finish his career as a blue, and deservedly so.

Yep - gotta hand it to him, what a season. He's really matured and in many ways is becoming a role model for our younger talent, we shouldn't even be contemplating trading him anymore.

Great write up. You have nailed it perfectly. This man is Carlton through and through. Any official that even considers raising Lance's name come trade time, should be shot and then stoned for good measure. Is a life member of the club (deservedly so) and deserves to be a one club player. Go the Red Man.

Never doubted him. Surprised me that people had the knives our for him so easily. Great to see people singing his praises. He was destined to be Sir Captain Lancealot when he came here years ago. Nothings changed.
