Perhaps because other than a Wok Cup about a billion years ago and Judd's Brownlow, Carlton as a club hasn't won a thing. You really struggle to get how supporters are keen to see the young bloke who has finally brought a smile to the faces of starving kids around the world get acknowledged?Struggling to see why this is something worth getting upset over one way or the other. Strange place this
I hereby acknowledge that Cripps has been a gun this year & will be the best player in the league very soon. Congratulations to the first ever winner of the B&S award - Patrick Cripps!Perhaps because other than a Wok Cup about a billion years ago and Judd's Brownlow, Carlton as a club hasn't won a thing. First year player, mate. Not second. Yes, yes, he's 20. Yes, it's his second year on an AFL list, but it's his debut year. You know, no games played. No experience in the AFL. No games under his belt. Developing tall, and all that.

Indeed they would. To be honest, Cripps seems to be the type that wouldn't give a toss whether he wins or not. It really is just a pissing contest between fans and I am more interested about the accolades he'll get later in his career anyway. How many flags did former RS winners Nick Riewoldt and Nathan Buckley win?****en hell, they would both be very deserving winners of the RS medal.
well i think Hogan was been up and down in form, Cripps didn't have a flat patch****en hell, they would both be very deserving winners of the RS medal.
Good article, except for the 190cm part
Also admitted he'd barely seen Crippa play..I don't really care who wins but Roos is basically saying that if Cripps (or anyone else) wins it , they didn't deserve it.
Bit shit.

Well he saw enough of him when we played Melbourne, gave him his 5 coaches votes. Also admitted he'd barely seen Crippa play..![]()
Melb supporters were ****ing filthy at him for his comments about them being negative and one of the reasons the club wasn't going well.Well he saw enough of him when we played Melbourne, gave him his 5 coaches votes.
Cripps is ranked 8th in the competition for contested possessions and 11th for clearances
Pretty impressive.
Watching one game does not give one the knowledge to make the kind of statements he made last night.Well he saw enough of him when we played Melbourne, gave him his 5 coaches votes.

never haveMelb supporters were ******* filthy at him for his comments about them being negative and one of the reasons the club wasn't going well.
He's been pumping up everything Dee's since.
I really don't rate him anymore.
'His endless desire to improve is also bound to impress incoming coach Brendon Bolton, who Cripps believes has a big future at Princes Park.

“I caught up with him last week, he seems like a ripper,” Cripps says.'

I couldnt help but notice that the last 4 posters on this thread have Cripps as their avatar photo.

Can't blame the guy for pushing the agenda for his own players. Every coach in the comp should have that mindset.
However he could, at the very least, be tactful about it. Talk about Hogan's achievements, talk about his attitude and work rate and the adversity he's overcome. Then when asked about his closest competition, Patrick Cripps, say that Cripps is an immensely talented player who deserves all the accolades he's getting, but that Hogan is the player he's most qualified to speak about.
"I haven't seen much of him, but Hogan's better" is exactly the kind of crap the halfwits in the media latch on to in order to sell papers and improve their ratings.
