And don't you think it's just a liiiiittle bit too much of a coincidence that Humphrey B. Bear came onto Australian television just after Harold Holt disappeared !?

You see, they think we all came down in the last shower.

Can't possibly agree with the premise underlying this thread. The 911 is a beautiful motor car.

2. Can you actually give me any proof that 1 in 4 people believe it was faked, or did 1 in 4 people who rang the Herald Sun poll (or any other media form) say they thought it was faked?

Not that I would consider a poll as gospel but I think this was a recent one ran by Ohio University.

Personally I would classify them as the same mold as the majority of creation scientists, anti-vaccinationists and global warming deniers.

Most have the same MO.

They start off with their personal beliefs whether it be that the bible is infallible, GW is a scam, mistrust with government, doctors etc and cherry pick and misrepresent whatever bits of information that exist to support their argument.

Its easy to use a website as your personal soapbox. There is no independent verification of facts.

If there are so many anomalies with this particular disaster, there should be engineers and other scientist jumping out of their seats to make their name by publishing an article in a reputable journal.

9/11 deniers have very few.

The most notable is Professor Steven Jones of Brigham University who published a study called "Why did the WTC buildings collapsed" and theorises that thermite was used to engineer the disaster.

He's certainly made a name for himself. However notice which journal he published his study in: "Research in Political economy" volume 23.

Kinda fishy that he didn't put forth his research to a reputable scientific journal so that it can be properly scrutinised by real experts.

It's because most "reputable" journals know to publish something like that is to have the current government come after them.

After all, they're trying to sack another professor from the University of Wisconsin-Madison who organised a lecture questioning the government line of 9-11.

They've also forced BYU to put the guy you mentioned above,Steven Jones, on paid leave.

Professor William Woodward of the University of New Hampshire came forward to say there should be a thorough investigation and was told to keep quiet by US senators.

Besides, the points raised in this debate to indicate it was an inside job are all over the 'net. It's because they're not published in 'reputable' journals that the US government can claim they're put forward by crackpots.

So with the US government attacking anyone who openly questions the official line on 9-11 are you surprised that they're not getting artcles published in 'reputable' journals?

Added to that there are a great number of highly credible people who believe there should be a thorough and proper investigation into 9-11.

Most 'Sheep'le won't believe anything that makes logical, physical and scientific sense, even if it happens right before their eyes. They'd rather believe the repeated message droning on in the background, produced by the marketing and psychological experts employed by their political, military and corporate leaders.

Your government and corporate leaders love you and would never lie to you to further consolidate their own financial and power, would they??? They've never lied to us, interfered in foreign governments or killed their own citizens, have they???

Safety in numbers people - stay with the flock and the wolves might not get you!

There are plenty of sites that debunk videos like Loose Change 2 and In Plane Site. Popular Mechanics is a good example. Reputable as well. Links have been posted on this forum recently in fact. Will wait until I get home to repost those links. Every good conspiracy must be accompanied by a counter debunker.

'Reputable' is a matter of personal preference. Popular Mechanics is one of many publications owned by the Hearst Corporation (www.hearstcorp.com), one of the world largest 'communication' companies. Victor F Ganzi is the CEO of Hearst Corporation. His links include:

* Victor F. Ganzi is on the board of directors of The National Center on Addiction and Substance Abuse at Columbia University (CASA), alongside Columba Bush, wife of Jeb Bush, Governor of Florida, brother of George W. Bush, President of the USA and son of George H.W. Bush, former DG of the CIA.

* Victor F. Ganzi is a member of B.E.N.S. - "Business Executives for National Security", from whose website we learn that "When it came time to evaluate In-Q-Tel, the CIA's innovative technology development enterprise, Congress turned to BENS"

* In October 2002, B.E.N.S. received a "CIA Agency Seal Medallion" for its work on the In-Q-Tel program. In-Q-Tel? It is described as "A new partnership between the CIA and the 'private sector'", making it a classic front company of the CIA.

at the end of the day there are going to be sceptics and believers.
The only way for everyone to agree is for either George Bush and his cronies to come out and say, Yep sorry guys we lied about that one too. Or if one of the "hijackers" is uncovered living on the 10% interest earned from his 100mill for his starrting role in the aftermath, and from the relocation expenses he required to move to the Bahamas, with that added cost of a face make over.
Aint gonna happen.
But from the info that is released by the admin, which i take it, the believers do believe, 911 might have been averted, but those hijakers must have been riding their luck big time, i mean, even the phone to the emergency center, just happened to not work, when the air traffic controllers were frantically trying to alert the air force. Not to mention all the luck they had when no one in authority, thought anything of all the warnings that were flying think and fast.

And the believers sit there and wait for a President or our clown PM to come out and say, anything different to what they are saying? Knowing for a fact that who they believe lied until they were blue in the face, to do what? go to war? There are quite a few of you believers that really need to have a good hard look at yourselves. Because we are in this sh-it sandwich and you dip sticks wants us to stay in it, FFS. ;)

Agreed and well said. People who are living quite comfortably with the status quo (i.e. a morgaged house in the suburbs and a job) are not going to come out and ask for the truth from leaders who are feeding them the s.h..i.t. they want. I sometimes cannot believe the crap that people will swallow when it is shoved down their throats by their leaders and the media every day. And then they regurgitate the crap they are fed as if they are experts, as if just because most people are sucked in and believe the same crap then the majority must be right. It is as if they don't want to take an objective look at anything, as long as their selfish a.r..ses are comfortable.

Rant over - that feels better ;)

errr ... cause it had two freakin 100 storey buildings fall onto it, I'd reckon. That oughta do it.

There's a bit of interesting discussion on the topic on this thread - but this has to be the single most idiotic comment so far. I mean, do you know anything about WTC7? You're happy to point the finger and ridicule, but if you can't even get your facts right, what good are you?

Mate, there are conspiracies which have happened in the past, there are conspiracies happening right now, but it just so happens that 9-11 wasn't one of them!

It's as equally bad a world whereby for some people everyone lapped up conspiracy theories no matter how feasible. Skepticism is healthy, so long as you are skeptical of your degree of skepticism!

When discussing conspiracies, you have to look at plausibility. Based on wreckage queries at the Pentagon, WTC7 coming down unassisted and people who hear loud booming sounds calling them explosions, we are supposed to believe that Islamaic terrorists didn't attack the US, the US attacked themselves so they could wage an unjust war on Iraq and control the oil fields. Has that control started yet by the way, are the siphoning off all the profits from oil sales yet? Or is the US losing money hand over fist throughout this sorry war?

I love a good movie as much as the rest. Mel Gibson's Conspiracy Theory was great .... but it was a movie. I'm not about to believe the more fanciful option just because a bunch of movie watchers and 'cool' uni students think they are in the know. If you can't prove something, accuse everyone else of having their head in the sand. Ah you guys ... so cutting edge, so supercool, geniuses each and every one.
