LOL, solid read.

"Dont blame ya mate, I really don't. It's becoming a serious mental problem supporting this team."

says it all...

All I've been hearing from Carlton fans is how they are improving and this year things will be turning around and how there were so many positives out of the game (14 losses in a row and 0-3 this year isn't much of an improvement in my books)

So where's that improvemnt going to come from. Where are the positives. All your top gun players played exceptional football in the same game and you still lost. You smashed us in the midfield and in clearances and you still lost. You played as well as you are going to play this year (and probably next year) and you still lost. You had 3 no. 1 draft picks playing and you still lost.

Wake up Carlton and stop deluding yourself. You still haven't bottomed out and you have still got a loooooooooooong way to go before you can even get a sniff at a finishing in the eight, let alone being a serious premiership contender. (and NAB cups don't count)

We might have a long way to go, but in my opinion Essendon will fall again before they rise. The core (Key position) of Essendon's side is over 30. Michael, Fletcher, Lloyd and Lucas are all great players, but they all are quality key position players coming towards the end of their career. I think the Bombers might struggle when these guys retire in a one or two year block. KPP are extremely hard to find, replacing these guys will be a challenge for the bombers.

Ryder played at CHB and then played at FB and made Fev look silly.
Hille or Laycock played through FF and Lloyd played between them and McPhee who played at CHF.

McPhee only played at CHF because Gumbleton, Daniher and Neagle are on the way back from injury.

Carlton had 10 players with less than 50 games, Essendon 9. Carlton had 6 other players with less than 100 games, Essendon 5. Hardly a huge difference.

And don't forget the so-called best player in the league

Wow, some new and original arguments to why we will soon be crap again!

I am convinced now, why has noone raised these issues before? :p

Could you have at least tried a bit harder and added, No Hird/Sheeds = No Bombers?

Mate that's why we've drafted guys like Ryder,Gumbleton,Daniher,Pears and Neagle over the last few years, with a view to the future when the players you mentioned are gone.

And to be quite honest, that sentiment is becoming as old as the "Essendon are the slowest team in the AFL" and "Essendon have the worst list in the comp." arguments that were bandied around all off season and have since proven to be nothing but a myth.

Our future is a hell of a lot brighter than most people realise.

He reminds me of that so called supporter we just had a thread on here at EFC.

This guy sound one step away from jumping ship also.

ah Carltank supporters. From the trading board:

Carlton will get pick one even if we come 14th (As long as we win 4 or less matches). We could easily end up with pick 1 and 2 or 1 and 3 or 1 and 4.

Not a bad year to tank. Hurley and Rich to the blues:thumbsu::thumbsu:

an entire generation of fans who like to lose

Gold Coast might have a say in that. ;)

Same old same old, Lucas wasn't in the side that beat Carlton, Lloyd only kicked 4 goals out of 23 and Ryder dominated down back, not Fletcher or Michael!

We're 2 and 1... same position we were in last season with Sir James in the side. I also rate us against the Doggies particularly with no West, hopefully we'll win a clearance this week!

I got a good laugh from reading Bombertastic's post in response to this accurate assesment:

Carazzo, Simpson, Fisher, Russell, Houlihan, Waite, Scotland, O'Hailpin, Walker, Bannister, Thornton are players that will never play finals footy, nor are worthy of it. This is the stone cold truth.

Bombertastic said:
I remember listening to this exact line from Geelong supporters back in 2005. Only the names were players that now have a premiership.
Master of comedy Bombertastic.

Fancy comparing the likes of the first 5 players to Ling, Ablett, Corey, Chapman to spaz's like ____ing Houlihan. Then you still have overrated cowards like Bryce Squibbs on the list, lining up alongside such superstars as Bannister.

In 2005 Geelong were ordinary, but they hadn't conceded 100+ points for a record number of games and hadn't finish bottom 4 that season, or the season before. Infact, geelong haven't finished in the bottom 4 since 1975 when they came 11th (out of 12).
