at first i was concerned about the big fella's kicking, and tonight im concerned over his pace and awareness during the Brisbane game.

Would it be safe to say that he will "mature" in these areas with experience ?

Absolutely agree.

He isn't aware of the pace of the game, his playing at VFL pace and he needs to step up a few more gears. Will come with more games I suppose.

Having said that, I actually prefer him getting full game time and doing big things for the Bullants.

Big guys take much longer to develop. He's just 18.

Has Kennedy had an injury interrupted pre-season and a knee injury just two weeks ago?

Just a kid playing forward for a team with scrappy disposal and slow ball movement into the forwardline so we're now worried about an 18 year old's future? :)

OUFF ! someones mighty defensive.

who said anything about his future, i personally beleive he was the 2nd best big man on offer in the draft last year and am happy we snagged him. Im just concerned about his pace and how long it takes for him to do things (when he has the ball - mind you !! ). So it pretty much has nothing to do with the side he's playing with.

All the points you mentioned have been valid though.

Defensive when presented with stupid comments about a kid who is developing nicely. :)

If you're concerned about his pace, awareness and kicking doesn't that translate to a concern about his future?

He isn't slow once he's moving which is what you need for a CHF and the rest will come with more experience playing in the AFL.

I liked the way he crashed the pack against the Eagles and tapped it down to Eddie in the one motion.

So why did you call me defensive?

wouldn't mind seeing him playing alongside fev in the goal square for the next few weeks. fev to lead and josh to be the tall in the goal square for the long ball.

This is a forum, where people can voice their concerns and raise issues to be discussed, I thought my observations are warranted, some on this forum even agree with me.... don't know if you should label it a "stupid comment" .. This isnt Freedonia groucho ;)

I liked that aswell, but whats that got to do with his awareness ? and furthermore how does that relate to his game tonight ?

Catchy opening line :thumbsu:

No disrespect to De Luca(because he has been a not bad target last 2 games)but playing CHF isnt allowing Kennedy to play his natural game and playing in the pockets or flanks isnt going to show us what he is capable of.

me thinks Archie is doing an ok job as of late :thumbsu:

His last 2 weeks have been ok. I don't mind Archie playing CHF and Josh next to him on a flank. Whats the point of having Josh crashed into week in week out in his first season.

How long was Kennedy on the ground for?

How often did the midfielders kick to Fevola and Deluca ahead of Kennedy?

People have to accept he won't be a spectacular high flying CHF; he'll be a player who PRESENTS all game long, he'll crash contests. Remember his effort in the West Coast game

Give the bloke some time FFS

Deluca still ****es me off with his kicking

His kick out on the full was inforgivable, as was his kick inside 50

He takes forever to get back from a mark and THEN to get the ball down to his boot.

i think we are underestimating how could his contested marking is. as i said i would like to see him playing out of the goal square next week. we don't have to go to fev every time.

I reckon Deluca has other plans, he doesn't want Kennedy at CHF, he wants himself their.

Go the DUUUUUUKES!!!!!

What I have noticed is that he is running to the right spot, most of the time, getting hands to the ball but is lacking confidence. He is contesting hard and bringing the ball to ground in front of him. Just needs to work on his recovery and obviously muscle up more and there is no doubt in 2 years time he will be a very good player.

I completely agree.

Give the kid a chance and it will pay off.

Midfielders, please be aware!!! We do have other targets in the forward line!

I agree with "C4 2 yo Door" this is a forum where you can voice your opinions not stupidity and sarcasm. Why wouldnt you be worried about a youngsters future? fair enough yess he will develop through more experience on my opinion, although on Sat he was a bit sluggish with pace but if he can over come that then the future for Carlton looks bright.:)

Exactly. David Parkin commentating on Foxtel seemed to be excited by the Josh's future. We really need to be patient with him.

And Schwartze on SEN said he will be a better player For us than Murphy, yes i know different positions but still a big rap.
