We feel your pain!

Greg Miller for Richmond Football Club

news detail

I offer my heartfelt apologies to each and every Richmond Member. I understand the pain and disappointment that you all feel. I know what football means to you all and the pride you have in your Club. We have tested your loyalty and commitment many times over the years and thankfully you have trusted and believed in the current administration, bestowed with the honor of guiding your Club.
Yesterday’s result will test your belief and trust. I can only reiterate what I have said before. The process for sustained success is in place. A stable, strong, strategic Board led by a man who really cares – Gary March. A very capable Senior Administration, who under Steven Wright has turned around the Club’s financial position. A Match Committee of hard working and creative people, with strong values, led by Terry Wallace. It is clear that Terry, more than anyone, has bought the Richmond family back together.
Don’t measure the playing group on yesterday’s performance alone. Senior players are either injured (Coughlan, Brown, Simmonds) or not in career best form. Leadership/experience is a very important ingredient you rely on when you bring a younger group together. Yes, we have moved on a few experienced players and may suffer short-term consequences; however our sights are clearly set on the next Tiger Premiership.
I believe in our youth. The camaraderie, talent and attitude of the players at our Club is outstanding. They will excite you at times and disappoint you at others. We will sort out who will go on the journey with us and ensure we get games under the belt of those that will take the Club forwards.
Many will say we’ve heard it before but if you love Richmond, you will take a deep breath and trust that the foundations are solid, and in place.
We will not be responding to the media hysteria, and will adhere to our policies and direction. We’ll learn from the weekend and trust the performance will never be repeated.

Waiting for the Miller bashers to go to town ......
as one of those miller bashers and rightly so i would say well done.now is not the time to throw the baby out with the bath water.while i think many of the foundations are yet to be layed and miller has much to answer for this. getting hysterical because of one terrible showing is not the end of the world. supporters should expect a few more beltings this yr and next lets just hope they are not of the 157point variety.

Dont deny his passion

But responses on the football field are all we are interested in these days.

Listening to Frawley trying to cover up a bad loss by getting Richmond fans together over the comments of Grant Thomas was a typical example of put away the passion and tough stuff unless you can replicate it on the field.

Respect-Greg Miller.

Greg could have walked but he's stayed with this club through a lot of turmoil-that shows me his love of this club and the passion to get it to the top again.
doesnt mean he hasnt got plenty wrong. k bartlett loved the tiges but was a shiite coach he got what he deserved.
miller will get my respect when he stops all the bullshit spindoctoring and starts getting more things right than wrong.

You can say Miller is shit about alot of things.

But he's always communicated with the members well, ever since his North days.

I dont think we need an apology. How can a team in this day and age lose by 157 points? Surely not.

What we need to see is some desperation if anything. It wasnt displayed. If it didnt happen in the first place, they wouldnt need to apologise.

:thumbsd: from me.

They cannot say such a performance will not be repeated. It can and it will because of our lack of mid and top tier leaders. It's killing us right now.

It's time to reinvest, the players (excluding Foley & Hughes) should donate their match payment for last night to the Jack Dyer Foundation.

Miller and Wallace are forced to face the music, they're not shirking the issue like our players were last night.

Did Frawley ever lose a match by so much? He looks an angel compared to Wallace. At least the supporters didn't spit on Wallace.
Wallace said three weeks ago in an interview, that he would NOT be dictated to by the media or anyone, as to what he should be doing inside the club, that he was not concerned with anything the media said. (like Deledio and Tambling starting in the middle).
Yesterday, he used as an excuse, that "Everyone" (the media) was telling him to start these two in the middle, and that's what he did, and that they were flogged. Weak Terry, weak as an excuse.NO one dictates to you do they?
It was just another excuse from him for a shocking loss. As an outsider looking in, it seems to me, that something is not right at the club. How can you, after losing by only a few goals against the best team in the AFL, come out next week and play like the 3rds??
I don't usually troll, but Wallace is pulling the wool over your eyes, as are the board. You supporters have suffered so much over so many years.
You must be congratulated for sticking to the club. I know how I feel, and we haven't won a flag for 15 years, and we probably won't for quite a few years. But I am quietly optimistic that within a few years we will, and I have something to look forward to.
I truly hope that things will improve for you all, it would kill me if I was a Tiger supporter, to go through what you have..
Good luck in the future..

thats exactly right rfctigerarmy it will probably never happen for another 20 years and there is no need for apology when it shouldnt of even happened in the first place!

Because you always donate your pay when you have a bad day at work, don't you?

Miller shouldnt apologise for Terrys F*ck*ps

Geelong

Ottens in the side - positive
Johnson in the side - positive
Losing to Kangas and getting caned by the media all week (ie HeraldSun - Fridays sports middle pages was dedicated to a picture of the Geelong side and pretty much caned 75% of the side - Negative media=Ammunition!)

Richmond

Dropping senior players Gas/Tivers etc - Negative
Ray Hall - Negative
Respected losses - Negative
