Roast A Reverse Buckley

🥰 Love BigFooty? Join now for free.

This pose is called a "Reverse Buckley", which is because the knives being put into Nathan recently have all entered his body from behind!

We can all have our opinions on our beloved Magpies and on our players, coaches, team & administration, but surely in the end we "support" all those that make up the club we love?

Maybe a number of us need to take the time to back our club, during the hard times, so we can enjoy the good times together as well.

Nathan Buckley has been my favourite footballer at Collingwood ever and I trust his ability to coach us to success. In the end I might be proven wrong and Nathan will become one of hundreds of champion players who become average coaches. But until then, he has my undivided and passionate support.

If we do "turn this ship around" in 2016, all those Buckley "Bullies" need to make sure they don't become pretend "Buckley Disciples", because it's easy for all to see who you are.

On the one hand you say we are allowed to have an opinion and the other you say we are disloyal for voicing it. What would you have us do?

This isn't Bucksboys is it?

Presti was ordinary early in his career and then became a gun. Leon Davis was ordinary early in his career and then became a gun. Dane Swan was ordinary early and has become a Collingwood great. The same can occur with coaches. The point i'm making is that future success may not mean that Bucks has been a good coach up until now. I feel comfortable with a negative assessment of Buckley's coaching up until now. I hope that in the future I'll feel comfortable with a positive assessment of Bucks's coaching. There were enough positive signs last year for me to see potential, but I can't comprehend how people at this point can be "Buckley Disciples".

No issues with opinions with relevant and logical views Jmac70....it's more the irrational rants that say that Buckley has been crap from Day 1, that Malthouse was the Messiah etc etc. As I have said...the jury is still out on whether Nathan can coach or not, but not giving him the chance to prove it, probably doesn't help the club itself.

guy couldn't coach pigs to be dirty
Isn't that instinctive for pigs?

BTW I am a Buckley disciple until I am not.

I know how you feel.....having driven to the SCG to see a positive start to Season 2016 wasn't the greatest one of my life decisions.....lets hope that Round 4 is the start of the turnaround!

It's not bashing. Most just want what is best for the club to be honest. I'm sure we all agree he is a club legend but we don't know if he is a capable coach.
I don't disagree.....I'm hoping h is a great coach, but still to be convinced. In fact, last week I would have preferred him on the ground to get the ball out of the middle.

Come on Baird......Who would be your replacement.....I'm not convinced he is "the man", but don't know who I would prefer.

I admire your optimism and certainly hope you are correct. I suspect though that Bucks will not meet those expectations. I can tell you that if he fails again this year then it will be his last. The club extended his contract but are quite prepared to terminate it.

I'm sick of the irrational rants that defend him.

"I trust his ability to coach us to success"... based on what? The fact he was your favourite footballer at Collingwood?

We are supporters of Collingwood the club, not Buckley the messiah. If sacking Buckley is the best thing for the club then why shouldn't supporters ask for that?

Buckley is already an "average coach", we've had 5 years to work this out.. it's not still something that's up in the air.

There is nothing more moronic on a discussion board than posters who say you can't discuss.

Mods should hand out perma bans to anyone trying to stifle freedom of speech

Hey mike do you think it is right after round 3 that we have a thread about our next coach?
