This should be an interesting one.

The reflex answer is 'Matthew Pavlich' but he's been somewhat out of form the last few weeks, and may not be an automatic inclusion.

The other nominees would be Lance Franklin, Nick Riewoldt, Josh Kennedy, and others.

Please vote.

If he comes back and plays 6 or 7 good ones in a row the selectors may consider him. They lean towards players who finish well as they (and we) have short memories.

Tricky.

There's probably only 3 true centre half forwards and Travis Cloke (who tries to impersonate one).

However,

- Pavlich has played a lot on ball.
- Reiwoldt has been injured.
- Kennedy is too hot and cold.
- Franklin really doesn't play as a CHF.
- Hansen is really playing at FF.
- Barry Hall is a FF.
- Pods is a second FF/FP.

I'll pick Reiwoldt in the hope he comes back and has 6 decent games.

each player has had their patches of good form and also periods of matches missed.

lachie hansen is a bit of a laugh...he playing quite well up forward, but AA is a bit much at this stage.

i'd say it's between Pav/Franklin/Pods. score on the board would point to pav, even though he's played a lot of midfield time this year.

Pav had a very good start to the season, past month or so he's been so so...nice contested footy against Carlton but he hasn't really been scoring the goals as of late to be considered strongly enough as the CHF, but as you said you got the mix of inconsistency and injuries with other players.

If he plays 6 or 7 good games he'll have played 10 games for the year. Wont even be considered.

Hansen has a whopping 12 goals this year. If he manages 3 a game from now on he'll end with a massive 36 for the year, Kennedy's current total.

Even a couple of average games lately by Pavlich are better then the couple where franklin didnt play so he would have the spot now, one of the two will get the spot by the end while Jack has the other tall forward position in the bag.

Pavlich. Lance Franklin has played only a couple of good matches this season, Nick Riewoldt has been injured for the major part of the year and Josh Kennedy has played well but the team he plays in will hinder his chances

pods and hall both full forwards, nick riewoldt only played 2 games, even if he plays the last 7 games wont be considered unless his getting 40+/5+ goal games every week.

i dont think hansen is even mention worthy in this category, good young player but not in AA contention.

buddy plays just as much out of the 50 as he does in the 50 these days, and will be close if he has a good rest of the season

The AA selectors usually go by the most recent form and I don't see JB getting back to his best this year .. .

But Riewoldt will? lol.

Given no other quality tall has performed consistently at CHF this year, Pav is a shue in for the position. Nevermind that he's played half of his football in the midfield.

The selectors would put him in a back pocket if it was the only way to give him a guernsy.

Probably best to look at average goals since Franklin has missed 4 or 5 games this year.

18 possessions a game, 3.6 goals a game.

I would say Franklin has it in the bag.
