I would have Shep, Wellingham, and Shuey ahead of the Gov

They play different roles though. As a KPD Gov is one of the best in the league right now since he can both lock down a player and also do a lot of what Shep and Wellingham do with their intercept marking and run from defence. Shuey is much improved this year but not AA IMO.

A Gaff, J Kennedy (Eagles), J McGovern, N Naitanui, M Priddis are in the 40 AA aquas.

Well done!
Will make it:
Kennedy (Coleman medalist, so unless he's the next Cummings he's safe)
Priddis (Selectors looked stupid last year after the brownlow and he's had a better season)

Might make it:
NicNat (Dominated games like last weekend so that will be fresh in the minds of selectors, was a little slow to get going early)
Gaff (multiple 30+ games and finished the year strongly - his first year doing so though which can sometimes work against players)

Unlikely:
McGovern (too many matches out)

Nice work lads!

I reckon JK, Gaffy & Pridda are locked and loaded. Nic might sneak a surprising spot on the bench, Gov won't make - a case of 'what if' for him this year. Shame he missed a few games otherwise it could have been a different story.

The melt on the Freo board re: Nic Nat > Sandy will be a sight to behold :D :thumbsu:

I would have had Shep ahead of Gov on the basis that he's played 5 more games and Gov's last two were below his best.

Kennedy and Priddis are locks and I think Gaff will make the bench at least.

Really hope Naita gets the nod.

Shep's year was better than McGovern's (great problem to be having) but with the hype around Gov and the limited attention span of the Victorian market, it's pretty obvious that Gov was always going to be the only other one in there. Reall, who is Brad Sheppard?

Shep, Cripps, LeCras unlucky imo.

Should be locks:
DEF: Rance, Shaw, R Murphy, Laird
MID: Priddis, Dangerfield, Fyfe, Goldstein, Pendlebury, S Mitchell, Hannebery
FWD: JJ Kennedy, J Riewoldt, Wingard, Martin, Betts

Shouldn't make the final 22: McGovern, Wood, Higgins, Neale, Burgoyne, J Lewis, Dahlhaus, Ibbotson, S Hill.

Borderline: Naitanui, Boyd, Stringer, Higgins, R Gray, Deledio, JP Kennedy, Mundy (probably makes it), Cameron (probably makes it), Gibson, Gunston, Rioli, Walker, Swan, Hurley.
