He didn't say that Ablett 'made the girl die'. He said he was involved, which he was.

Jimmy had a brilliant lawyer, back when Big Jack had money and paid for all expenses. How he didn`t serve time has me well and truly ****ed.
 
Dont know if he deserved it or not, there's probably more to the story than meets the eye, but is it true that he has a herion problem as reported in last weeks paper?
 
Windy, yep, it was pretty bad. Still different times back then. Point is, all clubs have guys who make mistakes, would blues man condemn Buckely for an act that was IMO, just as bad.

FORMER AFL star Gary Ablett senior has been bashed in an alleged attempted robbery in Geelong.

The attack happened some time after 11.30pm (AEST) last night in Latrobe Terrace, Geelong's busiest street, police said.
Ablett was taken to hospital with minor injuries, police said.

A man, 31, has been charged with attempted robbery, assault with intent to rob, intentionally causing injury and assault with a weapon.

He will face the Geelong Magistrates' Court today.

Just heard Frank Costa on the SEN news and he said he had called in at Rex Gorrells' car yard to look at a few cars was attacked as he was leaving. He said the offender jumped from a car and hit him with a belt.

11.30pm seems to be a strange time to be looking at cars. :confused:

I'm pretty sure his heroin problem was in the past and was not a current issue.

The hun have dropped it in there and left it nice and ambiguous to keep the pot simmering by the looks.

i got to admit, I grew up near where he grew up, so you tended to cross paths and I knew him and some of his brothers and I also saw him occasionally at the casino just after his playing days. Lets put it this way, he had an appetite.

There's a lot more, people dont know about him and what some of his brothers got up to, very very interesting stuff. that said Geoff and Kelvin were good blokes

It would have made the paper if it was any footballer. I seem to recall it happening a couple of times over the break between seasons. One was a Western Bulldogs player I think, waiting for a taxi.

From memory Buckley was charged with culpable driving after being involved in an accident which resulted in a fatality. I am pretty sure drink was involved.
