Can't for the life of me see Ablett mentioned in that post

yes especially if i had been involved in the death of a young girl ...i would deserved to be bashed ...and more

I couldn't see Ablett's name mentioned at all there.

The implication of the post is pretty clear.

Whenever somebody gets bashed/mugged/robbed, it is a shame, and all victims deserve sympathy.

Often there is reason to be sympathetic towards the perpetrators.

Using this forum to call Ablett a scumbag is completely unnecessary. As is the mention of Jim Buckley or any other past indiscretions of anyone.

Let's hope that Ablett is Ok, and there was nothing more sinister to the attack.

Let me ask this, should he have sympathy for a rapper that went into a night club and fired his gun and was then shot dead?

We haven't even heard why he was bushed, if there was a reason so if Blues_Man decides not to have sympathy for Ablett, that's his choice and opinion. Oh, and I am not saying I support that opinion, but he has his opinion, you have your's.

Many people on this board seem to think they have the inside word on what happened that night with Ablett and Horan.
Now seeing as Ablett himself has NEVER made a public statement on the matter and did not participate in the inquest, where are people getting the "facts" from.
Let's see, dead people dont talk so Horan's out of the question.
The media perhaps.......the purveyors of truth and nothing but the truth, even when it's boring....surely not. People couldn't possibly be gullible enough to believe what they read in the paper from reliable "sources" or even better, "someone close to Ablett.....".
Now I dont know what happened that night so will not make a definitive comment. What I do know is that the authorities did investigate this matter and decided that Ablett had no case to answer.
So who here, with absolutely no reliable "facts" in front of them have the right to pass judgement on Ablett. I'll tell you who.....no-one.

Man says Ablett began brawl

A VICTORIAN man accused of bashing former AFL star Gary Ablett has been denied bail

Vyasa Ofthsea, 31, of West Fyans Street, Newtown, appeared in Geelong Magistrates' Court today facing four charges over an alleged fracas with Mr Ablett last night.
The court was told Mr Ofthsea attacked Mr Ablett as the former AFL star was looking in a car yard in the Victorian city of South Geelong about 11.15pm (AEST) yesterday.

Mr Ablett suffered injuries to his wrist, foot and head, and a catheter draining fluid from his chest was ripped out, Detective Sergeant Rob Sodonaco told the court.

In a fiery record of interview played to the court, a seemingly aggressive Mr Ofthsea said he was the victim and had been attacked by Mr Ablett.

The court also was told the defendant's family had been involved in a dispute with Mr Ablett's daughter, Natasha.

Mr Ofthsea has been charged with attempted robbery, assault with intent to rob, intentionally causing injury and assault with a weapon.
Magistrate Max Beck denied Mr Ofthsea bail saying he was an unacceptable risk to the community.

Mr Ofthsea was remanded to reappear in court on July 11.

That article is interesting. The guy that bashed Ablett, his family was involved in a dispute with his daughter, wonder what the dispute was about? Also interesting that the guy said Ablett attacked him, guess we will have to wait for the outcome of the court case.

But seems, that the guy bashed Ablett because of the dispute with the daughter, or vice versa.

You've got to ask why Ablett was at a used car yard close to midnight and why he would ask if he was going to get bashed and why the accused would say, yes, you are going to give me 200 dollars.

Sounds extremely fishy, MG styles.

It's not that uncommon for people to look at cars in a car dealership late at night.Rex Gorrell's caryard doesn't have fencing around it,so you often see people looking at cars at night.

Also the place Ablett was coming from,Kardinia Cafe,is just down the road from Rex Gorrell.
