Lachie Weller shines for Queensland in U18s win

Bottom-aged midfielder Ben Keays continued his impressive carnival with 20 disposals and a goal for Queensland, while tall forwards Matt Uebergang, Brayden Preuss and Matt Hammelmann each kicked two goals.

Hayden Bertoli-Simmonds and Cameron Stevenson each collected 16 disposals.

He rotated between half forward and midfield. Looked very dangerous & creative as a half forward but also showed good composure and strength in traffic. Tackle pressure was good in forward line and in the clinches. I rated him BOG

Weller was good. Pretty silky and laid a a few strong tackles which I wasn't expecting.

Pretty happy with both Hammellmann and uebergang. I'd be drafting both based on what I saw.

Yeah the pretty boy look makes him noticeable too! Puts David Swallow to shame.

I was surprised to see Twomey didn't put Hammelman in the bests. He was there but maybe it was more just in spirit...

Twomey has his favourites and can only see them. Very ordinary that he has that role.

On Weller he was pretty invisible against tasmania. Even when he got it he didn't do much with it.

That's for sure. I think he pencils his bests in before the ball is bounced.

Weller certainly looked pretty good today. Showed some toughness too.

Played a pretty decent game also. He seems to be a borderline selection for Qld but has played well every time I've seen him (mainly top for lions reserves).
