Obviously living in Tassie and no telecast I was not able to see Adam play today but it was pleasing to see him rated in the best players by AFL.com.

It was his first hitout and it seems as though he did well. From the RWO message board one person said he overused the ball and one person said he had it on a string thereby showing how differing people see Adam.(Which brings me to the Grand Final. The more I watch that game ie nearly every night the more I see how much work Adam did off the ball and the deft touches he had that would not have counted on stats sheets. eg when Staker fumbled in front of goal Adam had rub from the Hansen LRT contest to cover Staker like a soccer goal keeper and that presence I am convinced contributed to the fumble. His goal in the second quarter when he ran hard from the centre to gather the crumbs and snap on his left foot is my favourite play of the game.I thought he deserved the Norm Smith)
This is a big speech for me.

For a few weeks now I've been getting a Brownlow vibe just whispering in my ear. Hope I'm right.

That photo depicts my favourite moment of the Grand Final....(except for the final siren). A crumbed goal on the left foot after sprinting from the centre circle, leaving Staker in his wake. SPEEEECIAL.

Have arrived back in Australia so I can give this thread a bit of attention.

I saw the Game against the Hawks on Saturday on my way to Tassie and have since watched the replays as best I can in order to catch up.

I was impressed with Adam when I saw him play live in Rd 1. To me ,but I am very biased,he seems to be working on defining a new position. It is almost as if Roos has given him licence to work out for himself where his skills andattributes are best suited. Listening to an aftermatch interview it seems thst he goes where he is needed. On Saturday I thought it was the best football lesson anyone has ever given Hawthorns's Franklin. Not in a thrashing but in demonstrating that this is what you will be capable of if you want it.

Adam seems to me now to be almost regal and to have a "presence". Not in an arrogant Buckleyesque sense but in an this ball is mine sense.

He makes mistakes sure such as not getting far enough away from the man on the mark as he wants to play on to a player that he can see is free.

But just like the old radio character , Chicken Man, "He's everywhere,He's everywhere."

Round Three

Has had an uninspiring start to the year, today was better though with 17 possessions. Was good around the ground as well helping out as always with the hit outs. Starting to influence games more. Because we had so many good players - 18 players in double figures for possies - it's hard to say he stood out. Was better though.

He's definitely starting to find it a bit more now. And he's started to carry it a bit more, which is usually a sign he's beginning to break the bonds. Thought his last two games were very handy for us.

In some ways, Adam is one of our good news stories this year, simply coz he hasn't hit his straps yet. While his best is still dazzling (that snapped goal vs the Eagles, the brilliant run then pass to Micky O on the weekend), he's been quiet by his standards to date - a step up a gear from Goodesy could really get the Swans season rolling.

a further uninspiring insipid start to the year, racking up possessions for absolutely no bloody use what so ever, giving away a lot of undisciplined freekicks.

someone please, boot him in the ass.

He was selfish at times.

His kicking was crap. Decisions were crap. A very poor game today, and i can't believe Adam Goodes could play at this level. Just coming off a brownlow win.

I don't think he's mentally tough. He gave up.

with his good lookin gf, I would want to finish up quick too ;)

he has been playing selfish football the entire year, some of the senior players were going over him to tell him to settle and focus.

seriously though, some very shitty undisciplined freekicks, from frustration I don't know, but haven't seen him play like this before, and its disturbing.

back to the game plan, or back to the magoo's, its his choice.

It felt like he gave up at times. It was very frustrating.

I hate to kick a guy when he's down, so I haven't mentioned his start before now. But I think he's officially struggling.

Hard to tell how far the turn around will be. Could be next week? He still seems to be getting his hands on the footy enough. But some of his decision making so far this year has left me scratching my head.

He just looks like a guy who is lacking confidence, you can see it in his face.

But he will come right sooner or later.
