Apparently you cant think someone who is of colour is a tosser - lol this is the world we live in.

Only in Australia. I bet LeBron James and Dwight Howard wished they lived here with all the bad press they get from all those racist Americans.

That's why it should be directed at the Carlton players as they are the enemy in the context of the game, not the supporters sitting in the grandstand.

The All Blacks direct their haka at the opposition players before the game, they don't direct it at the opposition supporters who have probably had a skinful and are likely to get riled up and abuse them.

And he would have been called endless names and the racism would have been the same.

We live in a conservative shithole, thats the reality of it. A conservative shithole with a large % of the population ignorant.

Not to this extent but those ridiculing him weren't being mistaken for racists.

Yup and tredrea wasnt accused of inciting the crowd or attacking them
He was just either applauded or called a w***er

No you didnt.

I can assure you, you never experienced racism in your life.

If you did you would have a better understand of the issue at hand, but you dont.

Do you even understand what the word racism means? serious question.
You can assure me? Oh well ok then. I can assure you that Goodes hasn't either.

Goodes says the dance is symbolic, everyone sane sees symbolism yet some defending him merely dismiss it as "just a dance"

Symbolic of passion and pride and to be a warrior

Not symbolic of watch out i am going to kill you and everyone you know

Did you just imply that only white and indigenous Australians go to the football?

I didn't imply anything like that and chose not to use the label 'white' as used in the post you quoted.

For the record I think it is just as unlikely that any Sudanese, Fijian, Bengali or fans from a similar ethnic group that has had monkey slurs thrown their way would use 'ape' to describe Goodes. Are you playing semantics or do you truly believe that an indigenous man should expect that random racist insults at an AFL game are coming from a non-European fan?

Do you even know how to form an argument and then articulate your point without coming across as dumb?

I get the impression, that apart from being poorly educated, you are in fact a shit person.

The issues are not drug and alcohol as much as respect and recognition. Everyone can help with that.
But Aboriginal cultures are already respected in Australian society anyway just like any other demographic (or at least in Melbourne it is).

Me personally, I don't think the race of an individual should be recognised by others (but it should still be respected). The individual's actions/merits is what should be recognised (completely independent of background).

I'm not sure what goes on in NT, but surely the consensus of respecting Indigenous groups should be the same as in Melbourne.

How do you know any of the Carlton supporters were calling Goodes racist names? They might have booed him but that isn't enough reason to charge at them brandishing an imaginary spear.

It was only after that a group of Carlton supporters down on the fence started to abuse him with one getting ejected. Goodes just inflamed the situation by his actions which was totally unnecessary.

As I said before I don't have a problem with Goodes doing his war cry but it shouldn't be directed at opposition supporters.

The carlton fans should of used their imaginary shields

I'm saying they're both gestures promoting one race.

If one is racist, why isn't the other?

If one would cause outrage, why shouldn't the other?

This is quite disgusting. For the most part people here are having a spirited and reasonable debate but for you to equate what Goodes did with neo-nazi imagery is the height of ignorance.
