I agree. It’s not a coincidence that Dawson announced he’s out immediately after the Swans re-signed Parker. I’m not buying $700k over 5 years. I reckon the Swans offer is nowhere near that.
Gunston wasn't a good time. This is perhaps more similar to a Lever, Bock, McGovern or Davis. Not quite a Dangerfield or Cameron level. Definitely not as hyped as Tippett. He took another step this year but he has been consistently good for 3 years now. He finished 2nd in our board's POTY in 2019 and 3rd in 2020 and 2021.
The fans rate him highly, which is why our board is taking it as well as what I imagine this place did when Gunston asked out.

The Herald Sun understands the Swans offered Dawson a deal of up to five seasons and had the cap space to make an extremely generous offer to the long-kicking wingman.
But he told them he was intent on moving home, with both the Power and Adelaide very keen on the 24-year-old.
Port Adelaide won the battle over Orazio Fantasialast year when he moved home from Essendon, and are confident Dawson would want to join them given their premiership window.PLAYERCARDSTART14Orazio Fantasia

They also have pick 17, which is about what it would take to secure a player third in this year’s best-and-fairest at the Swans.
But Adelaide is likely to put in a more significant offer and has cap space after losing Jake Kellyto Essendon on Friday and having retired Tom Lynch and Daniel TaliaPLAYERCARDSTART29Jake Kelly

Sydney made clear despite perceptions of a cap crunch they made a generous offer, with the Swans also likely to lose George Hewettto Carlton this off-season.PLAYERCARDSTART29George Hewett

“Jordan has been weighing up this decision for some time and despite there being an attractive long-term deal on offer with the Swans, he has arrived at the decision that he would like to return home.
“The news is obviously disappointing for the club. Jordan is a young, hugely talented player who is coming off a breakout season in 2021, which only adds to the disappointment.
“Given we have only learned the news this afternoon, we will take some time to work through the Club’s options leading into the trade period,” Gardiner said.

Sydney obviously want Dawson to go to Port because they'll get more or their first and a player, if he chooses us they'll be lucky to get pick 23 because we could easily push him into the pre season draftIt would be wonderful if you were correct, but Peter Ryan in the Age this morning quotes Sydney sources claiming Port are in the box seat. Fascinating, & for gawd's sake can this board not spit the dummy if he does go to Port - he's not a Tom Mitchell or a Tim Kelly.

The amount of posts I've seen basically saying Port in the GF and Dawson to Port are foregone conclusions is embarassing.People jumping at shadows again

I beg to differ but that's ok.... enjoy your afternoonYou have no idea if Port have joined the party late
Never let the past dictate the futureEven if they joined the race late they know how to get deals done. They're prepared to pay the piper, we typically aren't.
I asked the exact same question a day or two ago. Weird decision. Maybe he gets pushed to a rookie list?Article on the Crows app about Ronin O’Connor’s best moment of 2021
Unlikely to post that if they were thinking of delisting him surely?

Milera is made of glass, we should have low expectations of what he may do post injury.Assuming we do get Dawson, who does he replace in the 22?
Perhaps Seedsman on a wing? Or do we play Dawson in the midfield?
With Milera coming back, we seem to be well stocked for running half-back flankers. Or do we consider trading one?
