We should tell the Brisbane Lions they can have Atkins and Mackay for free if they take Burton back too.

It's was the use of an aboriginal artifact as a talking stick, which belonged to the tribe of one of the players.
Did it not occur to anyone organising the camp that that might be a bad idea? Use a normal stick FFS.
Absolutely, but we have Birdbrain in charge!
To be fair ...

... 99.999% of the population would have NFI what is and isn’t culturally sensitive to the particular tribe that the player was from.

Besides, we’d need to know more details to understand what went on.

Eg: Was it just a random branch from a particular species of tree, and it turns out that had (by coincidence) context to the culture of the indigenous player?

Or was it a specific artefact, and in which case how was it acquired? Was it something that is easily acquired in a tourist shop (eg: didgeridoo / boomerang / clapsticks)? And if it was acquired so freely and easily then it’s not so unreasonable to assume that its use would not be culturally insensitive. And even if it was, wouldn’t it simply become a learning opportunity for the people involved?

But it's not the general 99%, it is people from the only industry where the indigenous are overrepresented and easily accessible in that regard. They have what four or five indigenous players on their list plus a host of well respected former players - not hard to go hey we are planning on doing this do you see any issues with it?

Apparently the crows are still waiting for the tigers to move first and refuse to get out of their power ranger stance.
Some say, josh Jenkins has been seen since but it’s debatable whether that sighting is credible.

17 posts and you used one of them for that. Should have cut your fingers off after 16 posts.

So with Hampton retiring immediately does that mean the lawsuits are just around the corner?

Did this camp really **** Hampton up? Rumor seems to be he is really struggling with what happened.
Nobody knows. Best guess is his continual struggles with injury where he played 12 games in 3 years played on his mind more than anything else. Just never had the continuity to showcase his talent.

He has had on odd career for an AFL footballer. An underage sekection he arrived to us in 2011 without the usual AFPLA protections regarding workloads. He was in the first lot when Rooty Hill RSL was our training facility.
Quickly joined by a heap of early draft picks training under different rules.

In 2015 he was competing for a running half back slot with Nathan William's, Zac Wilson and Josh Kelly.

Other players handled it, but with an expanded list of young talent and limited experienced players to mentor him it may have had a long term affect on his development.
