ENOUGH of the injuries excuse

ENOUGH of the match up disputes

COLLINGWOOD is going over to Adelaide to TRY AND WIN a game of football. Now, I'm not sure bout the rest of you - but I'm damn optimistic about winning this game.

NOW let's get on with it....

GO PIES!!!!

I defintally think we can win but without Swan and Reid it be a very good effort and a Upset IF we do win

Spot on.

If swan and any one of Reid, brown or Taz played, we would be almost certs.

However i am still confident. The blokes that need to step up are players like daisy, obrien and Dawes. Senior players who haven't been going that well.

As always when we go in as underdogs, my head says not to get optimistic and that generally translates to what I post but the reality is that somewhere in the back of my mind I always leave a little bit of space for the unlikely possibility of an upset win. It is so much sweeter when everyone is telling you otherwise.

Too much unrealistically has to go right for us to win.

Very very VERY doubtful.

I'm predicting a similar game/result to the NAB Cup game.

So you think we will lose by about 10 Goals?

We have a better side this time mate

Do we?

The two Collingwood sides are actually surprisingly similar given the circumstances.

I just think our outs will be too much. Especially given the form they're in.

I don't know if you guys have actually been watching the Crows and how unbelievably good they've been playing.

As of last rd and probably the 2 Proceeding rds they are playing the best football of anyone in the comp no doubt and being realistic should win by 5 gls but if any Melbourne team travels well it is us.We can thank MM for that after his experience,s with the Eagles,I am really looking forward to this match and the debut,s of Williams and Elliott I would also like to see Ceglar,Witts and Mooney given a run against GC,Mel,and the GWS that would be great.

We are hanging on well and 2 good things about our injuries is we get to see all these youngsters earlier than we normally would and if we can get most of our top line players back and firing for finals they won,t be stuffed like last year by virtue of playing fewer games.

The crows should win from just looking at the 2 teams but we are pretty good as underdogs,I can take a loss just not 1 which damages our % too much but I have great confidence for the rest of the season,if we get to the bye 8 & 3 after playing 35 players this season and with a new coach everything is ticketty boo.:thumbsu:

We can win without a doubt but its no certainty. Everyone has to produce and play their roles MUST win contested ball and tighten up from opposition kick ins. Wellingham needs to remember his form from the famous Melbourne match. Cloke and especially Dawes needs to be up and about from the first bounce.

No frigging around, in their faces ALL MATCH, it can be done but its up to the lads to bring their A game.

The midfield will be where it's won or lost. If we can win it from the middle then we are definitely a chance so we need Jolly to dominate and our mids to play out of their skins. We haven't seen much from Daisy yet this year except in short patches but Wellers has definitely delivered as has Sidebottom. If Daisy joins the party it's anyone's guess what's possible but if we lose the midfield battle we'll get thumped.

Totally agree re midfield battle. Pendles really needs to beat van berlo tag to prove he can do it after carazzo and Carlton. (i believe swan has copped the tag ever since Carlton but could be wrong). If pendles is getting beaten, he may need to go to forwardline and use his height and superb goal kicking. If that happens, the others really need to step up in swans absence.

Just a small disagreement with your post. I don't think we have seen the best of wellers in the midfield this year. Need another game from him like Melbourne last year, when ironically swan was also out.

a win would be huge but adelaide look amazing at the moment and our outs are fairly significant. if we can at least be competitive (unlike geelong & carlton) against them and no more ****en injuries, i'll be fairly content.

pendles was tagged anzac day & first half v brisbane iirc.

It might be because of Collingwood's dominance in the past 2 years, or it might be because I'm crazy.... but I'm going into the game with literally 0 ounch of negativity. I believe we will win this game and tbh can't even fathom us losing.

As long as the players believe they can win, then I will believe. BELIEVE!

hope we get over the line, only thing is if we win, we will have to be flag faves and everyone will be on us like in round 2 until we lose.....A loss might b ok as we will just keep blodding along under the radar...should be a cracker either way...

Games like this i always start the week thinking clearly and rational. Adelaide are flying and we haven't peaked yet. Start thinking of injuries and so on. Be good to get within 5 goals.

But as the week goes on all rational thought goes out the window.

Sure. I wasn't meaning to talk Wellers' form up too much but he's certainly on track and looking far more dangerous than Daisy.

Anyway, the thing that I didn't say but which will influence the result as much as anything even if we win the midfield battle is the forward press. If we do as poor a job of keeping the ball in as we have been doing until now then even midfield dominance won't help.

We are 19 from our last 22 interstate trips including 2 finals.

2nd game back now for Daisy and if he can recapture last years form along with Pendles, Sidey & Beams maintaining theirs we have some top quality in the guts. My gut feeling is we need Travis and Dawesy to really monster the Crows defenders. If they are marking it, the Crows wont get that rebound, which is where they are setting up their attacks from. Very 2011 Geelong-like.

We need every single player to play their role this week. No passengers. Tackle, harass, give those crows bastards no time or space. On paper we should not get close but games aren't played on paper.

Massive underdog against form team away from home. This could be season defining.

Bring it on.
