Adelaide Pitch

Best pitch in the country - you always get a 5 day test, and you just about always get a result.

I worry for it come the move in 2014 though.

Not sure about the best pitch in the country but Adelaide has produced some great tests with results decided on the fifth day which is ideal. It might be easier to bat on than most other pitches in the country but there is usually a bit there for the quicks early and the spinners on day 4 and 5.

I really hope this test can last into the fifth day but the way India are going I don't think even the flattest of roads will help them last that long.

Personally i hope it is a road, and Australia bats first. Australia makes 500+ and declares. India gets out for less than 200. And Australia enforces the follow-on.

When was the last time Australia enforced the follow-on? Indias excuse for their shallacking in Perth is they are not used to the bounce and pace of the WACA. Seeing them lose by an innings on a road similar to their pitches in the sub-continent would cap off a great series for the aussies :thumbsu:

And so what if it is a draw? The first 3 test matches have been pitches that test the Batters. Bout time the bowlers were tested if you ask me...

just because a dominant australian team smashed shit teams there doesn't mean it's not a road
What about the non-shit teams? Your name says it all about your intelligence.

what non shit teams? over the last 20 years the only consistently decent team other than australia has been south africa

I think you will find and happy to be corrected if I am wrong that remove Warne and Macgill out of the aussie side last 20 years there probably would have been many many draws.

3 in the last 20 years, 11 in the last 30 years.

How anyone can dispute the pitch is not a highway is beyond me. The funny part is there is no reason for it, Adelaide should have no problems with grass and water.

You're kidding right?

As for the deck. It is generally flat for the first few days but still offers a bit to bowlers prepared to work hard. Days 4 and 5 is where the dynamic starts to change and results are achievable. Don't see this changing too much even when drop in pitches will be used after 2014
