Advanced HTML ... or do I need something else?

Here's a poser, that maybe one of yers can help me with :

Say I want three html docs in the following format :

Page 1<br>
Gerday<br>
How yer doin<br>
Thanks for comin'<br>
Catch yer later<br>
End of page 1<br>

Page 2<br>
Gerday<br>
How yer doin<br>

What I'd love to do would be to have the middle four lines in ONE separate file, and load them in to the pages automatically, eg :

Page 1<br>
SomeCodeForInsertingTextFrom Insert.html

SomeCodeForInsertingTextFrom Insert.html
End of Page 2<br>

you can do that pretty easily using javascript, however, i couldnt tell you of the top of my head, and i would have to look through a few resources to see so right now im not much help.

You can do this with iFrames!

When i was creating my companies intranet, i found this site to be quite handy : www.htmlgoodies.com

Its got everything including javascript which as WCE2000 said, seems to be the solution to your problem

iceman, I know, I've learnt nearly everything I needed to know from htmlgoodies ... but it didn't seem to cover this part.

Mind you, back then I didn't know that it might have been under javascript.

Okay, the iFrame business seems to be no help at all ... its just a thing about frames (about which I know), repackaged and pretending not to be a thing about frames ...

I have a 'teach yourself javascript' booklet and CD here ... had a look through that, seems totally irrelevant ...

... off with my leg.
