I have 16CR on Atlanta

Bad luck there Arkie… The Falcons gave you every chance until the rush of blood by Ryan to survey his options properly and give themselves another chance on the next play instead of forcing it in a tight spot..

ED SABOL CONFERENCE

CHAMPIONSHIP

BLACKY 83 edged out by QUIN STICK 85

Another awkward start by Quin Stick courtesy of an upset loss by the Dolphins who were not only shut out (19-0) but also swept in their division season series for the first time since 2007 by the Bills with 11CR stinging QS early as it was the first of two early game differentials, with the Titans come from behind win to snap the Jags three game winning streak to enable Blacky to hold a five point lead after the early games (52-47) but it was more about the damning setback of 14 points dropped for QS.
Quin Stick needed TWO Upset results in the later games and GOT 'EM!! The first upset wasn't a differential game but it helped save 7 points for QS when the Cardinals stunned the Seahawks on the road to snap their 14 home game winning streak and the second upset was the crucial third game differential between them with a 9 point turnaround which had play-off implications for both the Steelers and the Packers. The snow covered Lambeau Field didn't effect the scoring capabilities of either team as the Steelers held out the Packers in a riveting wild shoot out finish with the Packers unable to force the game into OT with a false start, goal line stuff by the Steelers and a last play incompletion in the endzone denying Blacky & the Packers in a their 38-31 home loss. After the completion of the late games, Quin Stick, suddenly was ahead by two points (69-67). The real conundrum facing Blacky that perhaps shaped this result was Quin Stick's work of genius with a 'reverse psychology' ploy that prompted Blacky to take the da 8-6 Bears on the road vs the 8-6 Eagles who were -3.5 point favourites returning home after a humbling 48-30 road loss to the 4-9-1 Vikings in Week 15. Blacky needed to select a differential selection to try overtake QS. The plan worked brilliantly for Quin Stick, who locked into da Bears to preserve the narrow lead with MNF to follow as a last ditch chance for Blacky to be tempted with his 16CR but Quin Stick was waiting with his own 16CR. The cruel reality for Blacky was that the favoured Eagles demolished da Bears 54-11. With the Falcons season in ruins at 4-10, an uninspired Blacky wasn't willing to risk his 16CR against the 10-4 Niners who were playing for a play-off berth and quite possibly their last home game at CandleStick Park. Not exactly the down to the wire finish as expected but another close encounter nevertheless.

Woody Line: Quin Stick -1.5pts

WEEB EWBANK CONFERENCE

CHAMPIONSHIP

TCOL 83 lost to JEFFDUNNE 100

The highly anticipated early game selection of the Saints @ Panthers game fuelled with intrigue, lived up to all expectations with TCol needing to respond but was not able to pull the big trigger (5CR Black Cats) as JeffDunne surprised the AE gallery with a defiant 11CR on the Black Cats against his beloved New Orleans Saints to infact claim the early lead by just seven points, (60-53).

Of the late games, all selections identical but JeffDunne, willing to roll the dice on a higher CR for the underdog Steelers @ Lambeau Field, lower CR on the home fav Lions who were on their final play-off tilt chance against the out of sorts G-Men.. these two upset results worked a treat for JD that basically set up the rapidly brewing upset result as TCol suddenly was staring at a 15 point deficit (82-67) after the completion of the late games. The real conundrum for TCol at this stage was whether risking his available 16CR on SNF or just try select a differential pick with the lower 6CR against JeffDunne's 5CR. TCol opted the lower 6CR on da Bears who were the underdogs on the road as JeffDunne held firm with his 5CR and 11 point differential to effectively clinch victory and a berth into the ND Super Bowl following the Eagles rampant rout of da Bears to seal the deal and continue his fairytale campaign as a secondary wildcard qualifier.

Woody line: TCol -3.5pts

Is it weird to say that the games seem fairly easy to pick but the confidence ratings are hard to do? There's only a couple of games I'm not sure on but have no idea how to CR any of the games aside from Broncos, Saints and Colts. I'll just predict I tip a perfect week ;)

Congrats to whoever cleans up this week! :)

It's been an interesting season of AE, good to see some fresh faces up top! I've been a pest hanging around the 12~15 place mark but haven't quite gone strong enough to crack the top 10.

Had I not thrown all my eggs in the Redskins basket a couple of weeks ago I might be talking a bit differently... but... coulda, shoulda, woulda. Felt I had to have a go.

Well done to the whole AE13 class. I'm off on holidays for 2 weeks and I'll be away from all things Internet/WiFi/Cellular, so I wish all those in with a chance for some of the prize pool the best of luck!

PB74 out! :D

LAST WORD
Even though JeffDunne is the experienced campaigner between the two, it's actually he who is currently on the magic carpet ride, living the fairytale, having qualified as a secondary WildCard from which his division, Jim Thorpe, duly delivered an unprecedented four play-off participants. Of JeffDunne's current six game winning streak, four of the last five are Division winners. But JeffDunne is 1-2 against rookies. QuinStick has established new ways to win and keeps on winning whether it's coming from behind as he has needed to accomplish in recent weeks to edge out his opponents when it's crunch time, with an impressive 100% strike rate from those eight close encounters. Quin Stick is just one of four rookies to clinch a Division title, having claimed the George Blanda Division title which featured two previous ND Champions ( Moo & DevNull ...previously Reacher).
@quin_stick holds the current longest winning streak at 13 which he hopes to top off #14 with an AE title.

This is such a near impossible match up to dare forecast a result as JeffDunne has truly blossomed in the second half to peak at #4 on the CR standings whilst Quin Stick is continuing to find ways to win regardless of the early deficit. Both are in piping hot form, as Quin Stick is also a finalist in the SUNDOWN BOWL. The degree of difficulty in quality opponents for JeffDunne to rise above and triumph against the odds is a testament to his current form.

Line: QUIN STICK -1.5

Here I was so busy having a meltdown that I forgot to put my tips in for week 17 and I'm in HRS.

Well hopefully I didn't do myself too much damage, I would've just tipped a bunch of faves anyway.

I tipped Falcons and Tankens thanks to my depth chart. I'm out, really should have put in an effort but had my mind on other matters last night and just forgot.

The only early tip I did make would've been a winner on depth chart but because I submitted it I get a loser. Flacco is obviously an overpaid hack. I'm not even sure if I want to continue supporting the Ravens at this point and that's not entirely due to their poor performance. After getting to know all of the teams I've found myself drawn to others more.

Exhibit A as to why you don't just rush in.

Little late to the party, but congrats to quin stick! Great game

UPDATE end of late games

It's a Jackpot Bowl for the ages, so competitive from everyone, matt looks in the box seat, but not sure what everyone's got left for the final game.

matt, gg and billiever's scores include their 7 pt bonus.

Surely Quin Stick is on the Eagles with a 16CR left.

This will mean that Quin controls his own fate and JeffDunne will be barracking for my Cowboys to win because if Quin drops his 16CR he is gonnneee and JD wins!!

Hahaha JD, it will kill you to root for the boys! :D
