The swapping of draft picks is baffling. Just absolutely baffling. It defies common sense. Teams are trading away valuable commodities to get the best picks. And we are deliberately giving away 4 spots at the best end of the draft to gain 12 spots at the lottery part of the draft.

This is turning into some Oakland Raiders type shit.
No we gave away 4 spots in the first round to get back into the second round. We had to use our second round pick in order to improve the depth of our list with Cheney and Lowden. So we had no second round pick. The swapsie with Geelong then meant we were back into the second round. At least we have picks in this years draft before pick 50. We have two new players and spots for young talent to come in. If you want to compare us to our neighbours, when is their first pick? And they brought in a player who while good, has one hell of a cloud hanging over him.

Another trade season down and I am delighted with the results. We have always been good at trading and recruiting and this year looks pretty good as well. We obviously have someone specific in mind at the draft that will be there at 14 so it's worth upgrading our second rounder and we get 2 depth players in areas of need for nothing. Best of all though is that no one wanted to leave and although that has never been too big an issue for us this year had me worried as every other club seemed to get stung. Obviously got a good culture amongst the playing group and now maybe with a bit better strategy in the coaches box we will see this list were it should be, top 4.
Ha!! Surely you jest. "Always been good" is a crazy statement!!

Geeze, I know it is good to have varied opinions on here, but some of the Debbie Downers have just gotten so ridiculous, they've become parodies of themselves and it'd be great if we could vote them off the island.

Seriously, they've gone beyond glass half empty, right to glass has holes in the bottom. No matter what you put into it, their glass will always be empty.
No I'm back now. The initial shock has subsided and its back to a state of numbness.

Yes, but that's assuming he'd still be there at 10 and they even wanted to pick him anyway. Lots of drafts have him going to the Bulldogs and the Blues.
A poster mentioned GWS are into Durdin at #7 so maybe we weren't going to get him at 10 and adjusted our strategy accordingly.

I want to know if the Club has the balls to admit they missed the kid they were after or make shit up.

Personally, I would go with speed with our first pick. I'd also look at a free agent defender for 2015...Heath Grundy comes to mind. Get him in for 3 years, keep everyone else in tact, finals in 2016, contenders in 2017 and 2018.

Any interest in duggan
Considering the quote that phil said in his interview that we need more lefties and he has an apparently very good left leg (clean it up a little to get it elite) he just screams out who we'll pick first up.

Apparently we are into Petrenko for the PSD

Whats wrong with him and what is ok with him
Tries his best (though often in a headless chook manner). Does provide OK forward pressure and can pull some goals from his ass. Isn't all that composed though and does panic a bit when he has the ball in hand. For a PSD pick I don't think you can go wrong.
