Don't know how many of you guys watched the Pies game last night but wow was BenKen impressive in the quarter and a half he played. Should hopefully play in the seniors for the rest of the year if he keeps up that performance. Hopefully that is enough to be able to re-sign him because I'd hate to see him go back home and play for the Crows. Partly because he'll be a really good player but also because we wouldn't get good compensation from you blokes for him (I'd probably want your first rounder for Kennedy and our 2nd rounder, wouldn't happen though). Anyway I guess we'll wait and see what happens for the rest of the year. Congrats on the victory yesterday :)
Yeah you're right, that wouldn't happen. Because he's not even close to worth that.

They were taking a good hard look at Hendo last year. If he's still got any interest in returning to Victoria he might be the man.
And at the reported price they were looking to pay (and we were 'considering' selling for) I really hope he's not. Henderson 2011-early 2014 isn't worth a second rounder. Occasional flashes without much substance. Henderson mid-late 2014 was one of if not the best rebounding defender in the competition. It's a small sample and I don't give much weight to it but given what he did do I really don't think we should be selling... at least not yet. He's one of those players that's more valuable to the seller than the buyer - is a buyer going to pay much for a bloke who's had 2 months of exceptional footy amongst a career of mediocrity? Nope... too much risk with that it was just a flukey purple patch. But as a seller it's not worth selling a bloke for not much when he's shown recently that at his best he's really quite excellent.

If Henderson comes back and goes back to being bad then he's probably only going to go from being worth a 2nd to a 3rd. But if he backs up late 2014 again then there's enough of a sample to make him really worth quite a bit.

Really hope we don't sell, would be a poor business decision as his value stands to rise far more than it can fall.

Rhys Stanley. Tall mobile Forward Back Ruck. 200cm. Stagnated in his development at St Kilda.

He and Terry Milera (leg speed)
for Jarryd Lyons and McKernan/Johnstone as they want tall forwards?

Soft spot for Brisbane

But why would they give him up? Collingwood has fantastic depth, so swapping him for unders to get a midrange pick makes no sense.

That's about all they'd do, which makes no sense for us.

for next year would jeff garlett be a good pickup? I havent watched much of carlton recently but i know hes been out of the team. with yarran no chance of leaving now would it benefit us in getting garlett (despite him being another player with a poor kick) when we need pace like he has and has the potential to go back to 2012 form or even further. would potentially cost close to nothing as well considering form/team involvement

If we didn't have Cameron, then Garlett would be an excellent pick up, though in saying that, if Garlett was coming cheap enough, you'd be mad not to take him. If that was the case, you'd be putting miles in Camerons legs and getting him to play HBF...then we wouldn't complain about speed from the backline

He'd have Perth as his preferred destination, but Eddie would get him over the line if WC or Freo weren't interested, or couldn't get a deal done.

Mind you, he just got a grand total of 5 touches in his VFL game this week and is way down on his AFL stats compared to last year.

With the emergence of Cameron, who gets a game? one of Cameron or Gartlett wont play until we get an injury. It would be a nice backup to have, but seriously affect the development of either.

I have a contact that knows him fairly well, I will see if I can get any info. I do know he loves coming back to Adelaide.
I know he has struggled with injuries, and I guess because of that - consistency. But on the few occasions I have seen him, there is definitely something there.

Although I did think that Mitch Thorp played a bit like Jono Brown when I saw him in the U18 champs, so who knows ha-ha.

They were talking about Garlett last night on Footy Classified... didn't he only manage 5 touches in their VFL game on the weekend?

No thanks. Cameron and Betts is enough small forwards in the one side. Sounds like he's going to Richmond anyway.

The 2014 Offseason is going to be a very interesting one for mine.

2 Months ago i thought it was almost set in stone.
Ret: Rutten Porp
Delist: LT Martin & Graham
Trade: McKernan

A couple of months of Footy have completely changed this:

I'm now thinking Radar retires as well, LT and Martin have probably saved their spots, whilst the form of Jenkins Pods and Lynch make me think that Smack and LJ could be just cut loose.

I reckon Rhys Stanley has something to offer. 200cm can run like the wind
He's got a long way to go, though. He's an athlete first and a footballer second which is why he's so incredibly frustrating. He's like a slightly better version of SMack who's less proficient in the ruck.

I think LJ will definitely be cut loose. He's had his chances and still decides that working hard is not his thing. I really think this draft needs to be attacked - we're not going to win the flag short term and long term we're already behind thanks to our 10/10 administration.

Retire: Rutten, Porplyzia, Reilly
Delist: Johnston, McKernan
FA: MacKay
Look to trade: Shaw, Petrenko (If there were suiters)

Upgrade: Cameron

Think we need to re-sign Graham. He's a better AFL level ruck than Sauce if the worst were to happen and he won't cost the world to keep. Getting rid of McKernan opens up a spot for a 3rd ruckman, potentially someone we'd rookie in Cameron's spot - a Brooksby or Darcy Cameron type

Still, we'd hopefully have 5-6 list slots to top up with via the draft and there are some real gems to be found late, a deep draft this one.
