Cavs were a very mediocre team who lucked into the #1 pick 3 out of the last 4 years, twice when they have less than a 2% chance of doing so. That's the only reason they are where they are and why LeBron went back and why they could trade for Love. If you think the Cavs are a well operated team, then you're crazy. They're the very definition of shitting bricks and getting gold in return.
Spurs franchise dominance also started off the back of a bit of luck with the guy to the left picked up when they had the least possible chance of getting pick 1.. but did anyway.

AFL needs a lottery.

Camerons a pipe dream, not going to happen. Would prefer it if we targeted someone who we is actually getable..

Hehe we have 5 all Australians in the squad of 22 based off numbers, including Dangerfield
"Patrick Dangerfield: Second for intercept possessions of midfielders, eighth for clearances and fourth for contested possessions (per game)."
Also 3rd for centre clearances, 8th for inside 50s most contested marks of any midfielder,

In a "bad" year....

In other words, he ain't dispensable. Get his signature done.

Don't know any specifics this year. All I can say is we are in some discussions with GWS (no specifics on what over) and that Nobes went to watch Jono Giles the other week and the consensus was he was pretty ordinary.

Too far ahead to be looking at draft targets, think it's more likely than not that we won't have pick 9 though.

wow which backs up Redhorses big fish claims, whether that is JC or another player

Its a pipe dream because some posters are smoking crack with a pipe, there is just no way that JC is coming here.

Would be very handy, yes. Port need him more as they don't have a genuine 2nd ruck/forward. For us, he would be displacing Jenkins from our forward line. Structurally, not much difference for us, but an upgrade in talent (especially rucking-wise). Let's not forget that JJ booted 40 goals this year. I don't think any other forward/ruckman came close to that this year.
I would prefer Ryder over Jenkins every day of the week. Jenkins isn't a ruckman nor a genuine kpp.

Doesn't that feel a bit like the old saying "if you set your goals low enough you are sure to reach them" ??

Playing JJ in a defence during the NAB may be a good learning experience for him up forward, time will tell.
Playing JJ in defence against the saints (bearing in mind it was a dead rubber) was a real sign from the AFC. We must be after someone to take his spot up forward.

all good points.

but wouldn't it be nice if Sando could say "our forward line would be the envy of the rest of the competition" and for it to actually be true?;)

Our forward line may not be the envy of the competition, but it's not that far from it.

If Tex can hit form, and JJ steps up, C Cameron gains more experience alongside possibly the best small forward in Betts, that is some serious potency.

Ok I'm getting greedy again and agitated because trade week is so far away. Does redhorse have another update on Cameron? Contract length/amount wanted by Cameron and offered by crows? Or what GWS could potentially want in return? ...or maybe what flight number he's on when he visits adelaide sometime this week? ;)

What a defeatist attitude.

Why don't we just give up on premierships as well and just target top 4 positions? Near enough is good enough?

I want the best players in our team and there is absolutely no reason why we can't land Jeremy Cameron. None.

Not necessarily.... I would hope luring JC is to keep PD at the club.
One B player plus 9 to Dees for 2 or 3. That pick then to GWS for JC.
