The only worrying signs I noticed were a couple of times when our player with the ball correctly looked to handball out to maintain the flow, putting it out in front of our player to run onto it, but the alleged receiver just stood there nonplussed and refused to move to the ball: very frustrating. Hopefully, they were just exhausted, rather than hopeless?

Hateley looked to be moving a lot better than last year which is a good sign.

Mcasey looked confident which I didn’t really see last year.

Agree with consensus. Also thought Parnell showed a bit

Why ?? Doesn't fit the narrative ??
I have my own opinion and watched the full game minus a few mins x 2 the stream went down
Hately is a jogger - no second attempts
Fumbles a lot
Just plain lazy

Mc Asey
When should you spoil ?
When should you make a contest?
WHEN can you make a CONTESTED mark in defence ?
Any kind of footy execution coming out of defence that is attacking ?
He did some reasonable things today granted
I just don’t see it elevated

You watched a different game to pretty much everyone else then.

Fair enough

That is fine
It’s what our forum discussions are all about.
I was quite critical of a few players today but lauded others to my eye
EDIT: Thanks for asking me BTW
Today’s hit out I think gave us a good insight into our prospects

I'm very happy to hear Gollant got a bag, it's long overdue seeing how good he was in a few games last year.

Beauty of a pickup by Gollant there. Hit the bouncing ball at full speed.
Wasn't that hard...

No wonder the bloke gets injured a bit - doesn't know how to spell fear...

That was high fly
The guy had the goods all day
Unfortunately didn’t nail that one but who cares
Like Gollant missed a few different circumstances
Loved them both

He was quite OK, not dominating.
He completely lost it once when other defenders would not run to the positions he required to pass it to them. :)
Need to really try him up forward. I see so much of Cameron from GWS now Geelong in him and the way he moves when he played up forward as a junior . Can’t believe the club doesn’t see that FOg , Berg and Thilthorpe are a tall, lumbery slow combination and no real standout athletics traits amongst them. Thilthorpe as good as he will be is not fast and not a pack mark .

Thilthorpe is slow with no standout athletic traits? I've heard it all now.
